What are Clive's strengths as an actor?
He's the guy you expect to track down the guy who did it and just beat the living crap out of him, you know, or kill him or something.
Hey guys, Amanda Champagne here on the couch today with David Schwimmer. Thank you so much for coming by.
It's my pleasure. This is a swanky suite.
Well, thank you very much. So we're here today to talk about your second feature film you directed, Trust. This amazing 14-year-old newcomer, uh, Liana Liberto. She meets someone online who uh, she believes is a peer of hers, uh, this 16-year-old kid and over a series of weeks and months starts to really fall for him. When they finally meet, uh, he's not what he uh, purports to be. He's he's a lot older. Where are you? I'm sitting on a bench just outside. If I know that you're gonna be a dad soon. Congratulations.
Thanks very much.
So, what kind of info would you give people, parents when they're letting their kids go online and and run around the internet.
Well, you know, the truth is, you can only do so much. Now that every phone is, or will shortly be a computer. Um, it's really not about trying to control your kids. It's really about trust. It's about, I mean, about, you know, kids trusting that parents aren't gonna freak out or wig out. This film really is about parenting in the age of technology.
When you were casting Liana, when you first met her for for her first audition, did you know right away that she was the girl? Or what was it about her that really kinda stood out?
I I had a really strong suspicion like, wow, that's exactly the right um, performance and the right kind of uh, presence. You know, she was 14 when we shot it, so she was a real 14-year-old.
Do you think this is kinda a satisfying?
Liana, I think she's gonna have a huge career. I think she's she's incredible talent. And uh, she's already working. She just finished another film playing the daughter of uh, Nicholas Cage and uh, Nicole Kidman.
What are Clive's strengths as an actor?
Clive Owen. Uh, what isn't his strength? I mean, he's he's got incredible intensity. Action! Ave! Corner of the ambulance. You know, he he's a man's man. He's kinda the guy you expect to uh, if this happened, if something happened to one of his kids, he's the guy you expect to track down the guy who did it and just beat the living crap out of him, you know, or kill him or something.
