Young Hollywood

I'm joined at Young Hollywood Studio by the extremely hilarious Gabriel Iglesias.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Extremely hilarious. That's a that's a lot of, that's a lot to live up to.

Young Hollywood

Well, that's what I tweeted before you came in here, so you better live up to it. You are very extremely extremely hilarious.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Yes, I am. I'm fluffy.

Young Hollywood

Fluffy, Georgie fluffy as well. That's what I call. I've been all over his dog since I walked in the room for everybody.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Literally all over my dog. To the point that Georgie was gonna file a restraining order. This is true. This is true. Um, doing very well at the moment, sir.

Young Hollywood

A Haunted House 2.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Yes, uh, I got a movie coming out. Finally, I can promote it. I have to, actually this is the second film that I do. The first one was Magic Mike.

Young Hollywood

Magic Mike. A little bit different of the movie.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

A little bit of a different movie. Yeah, a little bit different. Uh, believe it or not, there's naked people in both.

Young Hollywood

Right, there is. There is. There's naked people in both.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

One, there's a lot of laughter and the other one there's just naked people.

Young Hollywood

Right, right. And I notice that obviously you did mention that this one was more enjoyable, not that you didn't love Magic Mike, but you had to stick to the script.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Yeah, uh, definitely, you know, we're working with Steven Soderbergh, Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, and it's very much, you don't wanna piss anybody off. First time doing a big movie, and uh, you're working with all those people, you don't wanna be the guy that went off the, you know, went off the rails. So, uh, I stuck to the script, but A Haunted House 2, though, Marlon says, look, man, as long as you get from here to here, whatever happens in between, just go for it. Which is great. Which is you love, you love it. Yeah, no, I love it. I you know, I love them just dogs. She loves it. She loves it. She's never been so happy. She doesn't show expression, but she's very happy right now. Yeah, I doing good. But no, like I said, he gives you that freedom to just go out there and create and just have fun with the with the part. And uh, for me, that's just total freedom. Right. Because you go in, you do it one time by the script and he goes, all right, now scratch the script and I just do you. All right, I can do me. Perfect.

Young Hollywood

You guys, this this hilarious cast, I always wonder if you put all this funniness on a set, is it is it just do you just burst out laughing at times? Is it hard to take it seriously?

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

There's so much chaos happening and uh the camera's always rolling. So I mean it's not like there's downtime and we're just laughing. Camera's always rolling and so uh yeah, it's it's nonstop.

Young Hollywood

Is there one scene that sticks out as being your favorite in in the movie to film?

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Uh, for me it was, it was a lot of fun driving the car. They put me in a old Impala and they put like 19 Mexicans in the car with me and it was my family. Mi familia. And then I'm driving around the block and it's funny because we did the take like three times and we're in a very exclusive part of town. Right. You know, and so the fact that there's this car loaded with all these Mexicans and everybody's dressed as stereotypical as you can make it, and I'm going around the block and all these people keep coming out of the house seeing this and they're like, oh my God, the neighborhood's going to you know, and so that that for me was cool.

Young Hollywood

Right. Yeah, that's a good that's a good little one. Is there a part that you enjoy the most? Is it stand-up? 'Cause you've done TV now, you've obviously into the movies. Is there one that sticks out as being your favorite or do you just love it all?

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

My favorite is stand-up comedy. I'll never give it up. That is my number one priority. The fact that movies are happening now is is nice, but I I don't wanna ever stop performing live. Right. I'm getting ready to start doing my own movie. So uh, I'm pretty I'm pretty I'm pretty pumped up about that one. Let's talk about this the new the new the new movie's actually gonna be a comedy concert film. Um, they recorded me doing one of my shows and uh basically it's about two hours long and uh it's gonna be in theaters. It's a huge concert. We did it in San Jose, California uh at an arena where the Sharks play. San Jose Sharks. Hockey team. Yeah. Like, who wants a What's a shark? You know, so uh The Sharks play, they play with sharks in the ocean. They with sharks. Yeah. Yeah. This is weird. This is weird. That's where we did the concert.

Young Hollywood

That would be a good video. Throwing you in the water and seeing what happened.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

I know I know exactly what would happen. It wouldn't be pretty. It wouldn't be pretty. Um but yeah, going back to uh A Haunted House 2, it's it's a spoof on you know, these scary films. Total spoof on all the paranormal activity films. This one they they touch on the Conjuring and uh back to the paranormal as well and just a lot of crazy things happen. There's one scene where we're chasing a rooster around an island. Right. Uh, there's another scene where there's a a Marlon Wayans having sex with the doll. And I mean I mean actually having sex with the doll. Like I I saw that. Yeah, a little bit disturbing. Pushing the pushing the bar there. He pushed he pushed the bar very hard. Yes, very hard. Very hard. Extrem. I think he knocked the bar over to be honest. I think the bar's no longer there. He for some reason he loves having sex with uh objects in in his movies.

Young Hollywood

Oh I in his movies. Yeah yeah yeah. I thought we were getting an exclusive there.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

No, no, no, no. No, in part one I think he uh he tore up a bear, a teddy bear, and then this one was the doll. So I I don't know what he's gonna do for part three. That's nice.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Obviously not a fan of the the dolls and the teddy bears, that guy. Um, you play Miguel, the neighbor.

Stand-Up Comic Gabriel Iglesias

Miguel the neighbor. I have like seven different names. I think it's Miguel Rodriguez uh Gonzalez and then the last name is like Smith. Stereotypical. Steal of course. Yeah. There's a lot of stereotype. which is you humor in it. Oh, 'cause I'm Mexican I must be Jose. Are you? No, fool, my name is Miguel. Is that your truck? Yeah, that's my truck. And who's Jose? That's my middle name. I love the fact that it's so over the top that I don't feel ever like I'm doing a disservice to my people. Right. You know, I feel like, hey It's too far out there. Yeah. You take that seriously, then you need to get help. Then something's wrong with you. You need a problema, señor. Yes, yes. Big problem.

Young Hollywood

Brilliant stuff. This guy taking over the world. Make sure you watch him. Well you you can't help but watch him, he's everywhere at the moment. Gabriel. A Haunted House 2. April 18th. It's crazy. That's that's almost you know what you got a lisp in there when you did it with that girl voice. It's it's crazy. That sounds like a girl. Yours sounds gay. Like You can wrap this up.
