Hey, we're Lifehouse. We're hanging out at Young Hollywood Studio. This is our song, You and Me. Another day in and it were my hardest clock now seems so light. I can't keep up and I can't back down. I've been losing so much time.
So you guys have been together for a long time. How, first of all, give me the key to a successful long relationship. I need to learn by example. How do you stay together? How, how do you keep the magic alive?
You just learn you learn how like how not to push each other's buttons or how to certain situations. Or how to at the right time. That's true. You learn a certain look that someone has in their eye that just says get away from me. And you respect it. Yeah, because you know, touring is 10% playing on stage and 90% being crammed in a very small tour bus with 13 guys. So it's a little claustrophobic, but I think that we're one of the rare bands that actually enjoy spending time together, you know, and and so when we have a day off, we all end up at the same restaurant, which I think is kind of pretty rare for most bands that tour a lot. And it's you and me. And I love people. Nothing to do. Nothing to prove. And it's you and me. And I love people now know I can't keep my eyes off you.
I want to thank you especially for being here because you're missing court.
I am missing court. Yes.
What did you do?
It wasn't a homicide, it wasn't theft. I was driving in the carpool lane and for some reason I thought that you could exit the carpool lane if there's a white line. Someone told me that, I don't know how.
Now, were there more than one person in the vehicle at the time or were you cheating that system?
Yes, there was there was actually four people in the vehicle. So I was totally in the clear, but uh I got pulled over and I got a ticket for it. I'm seeing a trend though actually because uh Bryce just recently had his iPhone stolen from him at the gym. It's all sorts of crime going on. It's nuts. You know that together everything that's in our way. Better than all right.
So Al Maria. Did I pronounce it correctly? Al Maria.
Al Maria. Yes.
Your sixth album, where did where did the name come from?
Uh basically Al Maria is a city in Spain where they filmed all the early Clint East was movies. But basically the record started to take on this cinematic kind of epic feel to it and when when we finished the album it had a bit of a pseudo like electro cowboy vibe and that just, you know,
You sold me just on that. Pseudo electric cowboy.
When we wrote the song, Between the Raindrops, all of those kind of spaghetti western undertones started to kind of permeate through a good portion of the record. So it's almost like it's this fusion of pop rock, but kind of uh a cinematic quality, too. Take me to a hut. It was such a crazy place. You know how come down. You know I'm here to stay.
So there's going to be a tour in the spring?
There is. We're going to go out probably February. Right? March. February, March. Yeah. It's unclear. We're still booking it. We're not sure at this point. We're better than all right. I killed between the raindrops with you.
Which band member is most likely to be Justin Timberlakes body double?
We we were doing a festival once and I stepped off the bus and there was like five little girls and I thought that they wanted to get one of our autographs, so I stepped out and sure enough there were posters that were just were full on Justin Timberlike on them. I was like, wow. And you'd be surprised how often that happens. Really? Yeah. To keep you.
Which band member can name the most random Canadian city names?
Uh Regina. Toronto.
Did you just talk dirt?
No, you know. My brother actually lives in Regina, Canada. I'm Canadian. Yes. And you're being you're being completely blown out of the water here. Talk about Regina. I want to see how many weird Canadian names you know. There's medicine hat. Which is Moose Jaw, Saquatchuan. That's not true. No, it really is. Yeah. Uh There's Red Deer. Okay. Alberta. Vancouver. Just in the past we knew.
Which band member is most likely to be late for soundcheck?
Probably Bryce. He's been good lately. He's gotten better. He's gotten a lot better.
Why are you late? You're taking the hov lane.
See These guys like to show up 15 minutes early for everything. If you're after that, then you're late. You're technically late. You're just trying to. I like to get as close as possible. I like to be like one minute. He likes to live on the edge and drive over white lines.
Thank you guys so much for coming in. Congrats on the new album and we'll be seeing you on tour.
Thank you. Indeed.
