London Brown

Thank you for having me. I appreciate it.

Young Hollywood

Welcome to the Young Hollywood Studio.

London Brown

Yeah, man. This is this is really poppin' here. This is it. I like it. You got the you want it's it's like a slumber party but like upscale or something. You're looking very upscale. I like this.

London Brown

I appreciate it. It's an incredible to this incredible, uh, this look here with the brown jacket go with the pants. No, I'm not that guy. No, no, no.

Young Hollywood

Did you do this? Is this you?

London Brown

This is my style. I at least try to be very comfortable. And also clothes is a good way to create good energy. I did that and these incredible, zoom in on these incredible socks. No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding.

Young Hollywood

You do have incredible socks. They're okay. They're okay. You're not you're mixing prints, which is strong. I'm I It shows confidence, security, boom. You are from Los Angeles, just down the freeway in South LA.

London Brown

Yes, yes, yes. I'm from here, born and raised. Born and raised.

Young Hollywood

Take me back to little London. The the kid who just had big dreams and oh my goodness, now you're starring on an HBO hit show.

London Brown

Um, well, I was just born and raised in South Central LA, and so early on, I was, you know, involved in plays for the church and in high school, and, uh, so those, honestly, those ideas haveven't left. Uh, I still get very excited or filled with a lot of ebullience when I think about, um, going to set or in my case, going to work clubs. I still feel that thing. Um, the nervousness and all of that. And so I don't take any of it for granted. I'm I'm very, uh, grateful to be able to, you know, live off the thing that is just a regular passion for me.

Young Hollywood

Now, you were talking about your comedy. You still do the clubs almost every night, no matter where you are.

London Brown

It's just one of those things where I don't need anyone's permission to do it. I can hit a club anytime I want to get up and work out material or if I'm going through something, I've done that before where I will look for a club and vent and and get it out. And then, accidentally, it becomes a joke. But a lot of stuff I talk about on stage is very honest and personal. So, it's but that's the tilation of doing it. Just like some people jump off of mountains, stand up is the same kind of rush. That, you know, we get the same thing, just in different ways.

Young Hollywood

You know what? I'm getting a rush just listening to you. Your vocabulary, tilation. That's like the third word you've used in the past couple minutes that I just am excited. Oh, no, I don't mean Where it's get me excited. I love it. I love it.

London Brown

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be verbose about this. I love it.

Young Hollywood

Oh, no, no, no. Cuz I know when I start talking, I I love words, too. I don't want to be vociferous about none of this. That would be that. I miss. No, I I I appreciate words. I mean, I think that we can bend words and vowels and, you know, that's why it bothers me when people say, you can't feel emotion through text. I totally disagree. I'm glad you can appreciate words. I can. Um, do you use emojis? Do you do you have a go-to?

London Brown

Yeah, I I I

Young Hollywood

Give me your top three. I was going to save this for later, but you got to talk to me. All right.

London Brown

Yeah. Show the shrug. Uh, Like that. Yeah. I do that one. I do the there's the humble humble pile one that's kind of like, where's this one? It's like the eyes are kind of closed. It's not the shoulder shrug, but it's just it's the humble face emoji. Kind of like that. Okay, boom. There's that one. And then

Young Hollywood

You're going to say boom again.

London Brown

Boom. Boom. See, Denzel says it like that.

Young Hollywood

Wait. I I wanted to ask you about your impressions while we were talking about your boom. Now she wants to talk about, uh, impressions and voices. Later we'll talk about voices later. Uh, so wait. The top three. Yep. What's what is the dog?

London Brown

Wait. So the shoulder shrug. And then sometimes I do the awkward the awkward one where it's like the emoji who that shows the teeth but it's no expression, it's kind of like like it's it's the embarrassed one and you're like, No, no, no. Yes. Cuz sometimes I don't know, sometimes people do things. Uh, all they deserve is an emoji. They can't get any words. Cuz I don't know what to do. I don't like small talk. Small talk is anything that we discuss that has nothing to do with the progression of our relationship, the dynamic of it. So I'm not going to tell you about the fact that last week I had some shoes on and the bottom came off after I got out of a club. Cuz that didn't mean anything to you.

Young Hollywood

I'm invested. I'm here.

London Brown

Okay. Dogg, I was coming from a club and these shoes I had on, the bottom just, I had them over like 10 years and the bottom just it was a Daffy Duck type front, it just the whole thing just tore off the bottom. Fortunately, happened after I got off stage cuz then I would have had to talk about myself and the shoes, so.

Young Hollywood

You can talk about yourself all day.

London Brown

No, I'm not. I don't want to be self-aggrandizing. That was for fun. That was for fun. That was for fun.
