Um you just serenaded us. And I'm literally I'm going to have to just say what I'm going to say, like I almost cried. You really did almost make us cry.

Definitely a good thing.

Okay, good. I was like, just hold it together. Hold it together. Um by the way, I have to tell you the first time we interviewed you, I don't know if you even remember, but you were like seven or eight years old.

No, I do remember. We talked about this at the AMAs.

We did. Okay. Yeah, yeah. So the crazy thing is, though, is first you were so cute, but your sister Miley actually posted on her Instagram a picture of you on Young Hollywood. I don't know, we have it right here.

Oh, for my birthday.

Yes, for your birthday. And I was like, that is so awesome that she found that. We were we were dying at all of those pictures um on my birthday.

I was sick on my birthday and so was Miley. We were laying on the couch like eating Chinese food. Like laying across the couch watching movies and we're looking up all these old pictures of me like dying laughing. Like it was so funny.

Oh my God, so you're a queen. Yeah, so we were just posting all of these things on Instagram. Look how cute you are, though. You were like, what? Eight? Seven? Probably. Um but speaking of growing up, you're killing it. You just released your debut single "Make Me Cry". You'll be the death of me. Say your goodbyes. Oh, loving you can make Jesus cry. When I hear you saying, darling, your kiss is like an antidote and I'm fighting like a Marley. But you got me on the ropes. I think what's so cool about it is that it's actually like not really, it's not what you expected and it's like so edgy and soulful.

And it's like, how did you even, I mean, I assume you always knew you wanted to do singing and acting throwing up in the Cyrus family.

Yeah, it took until like 2014 for me to kind of like really want to do it. And that's whenever my manager started putting me into sessions to kind of test the waters a little bit. Like we weren't like really taking anything super seriously. We didn't have a date on anything, which, which is what made "Make Me Cry" really cool because we didn't know we were going to go with "Make Me Cry" until a few months before. Like we literally had no plan until we just found the right song. Like we didn't think about, we weren't trying to find a song by a certain date. Like there were no plans. And that's what made "Make Me Cry" really special because once I recorded that song with Labyrinth and I still was obsessed with it after like months of having it, we were just like, it's time. I never needed you like I do right now. I never needed you like I do right now. I never hated you like I do right now. 'Cause all you ever do is make me.

And how did the whole collaboration come about with Labyrinth?

I was driving to Coachella with my manager and um Ron Perry from my label. Ron was like, hey, Noah, I've I've I want you to like go in a session with this kid Labyrinth and I'm like, Labyrinth? Like I like freak out and I'm like super excited.

And was it true that you were supposed to like only be on that song and then you heard him sing on it and you're like, oh my God, wait a minute, you have to be on this song with me.

Well, um it wasn't like a song whenever I heard. I It was only a chorus. So like there were no verses or anything. As we were like singing it together, I was like, you know, have you had the idea yet that this could be a duet? I like I think that's going to end up happening. I mean, I feel like I was like, I feel like this should be a duet. And he was like, yeah, let's do it, man, that'll be jokes. And so we just that's his like little British lingo.

So, and like what is the song actually about? Like what is the meaning?

It's just about a toxic love that you you are so in love with your the person you're in a relationship with, but they're not giving anything back to you. You're like trying to wake them up and they won't wake up and like look at you or talk to you about any of it. So.

Which is just a super relatable thing. I mean, everybody's kind of experienced that. And then you just got to do what I do in the video and throw a chair every once in a while and just have like a freak out. Right?

Yeah.

That's amazing. And then what is like the whole process? Because I know you you write a lot of songs, too. So has that been something you've always done or like wanted to do?

Um I started writing when I was like 14 and that's like whenever um I like wrote a song for my friend, I think. And she was like, you're kind of good. She was like, you this is really good. And then I went into my first session and that's whenever I actually like learned how to write a song. Like if I found that song that I wrote for my friend, it was probably awful. But I maybe I'll record it one day.

Oh no. One day. Um and I know you said one of your biggest inspirations is Lady Gaga.

Yes.

Right? What did you think of her Super Bowl performance?

It was so good. So good. So good. But it was like classic Gaga. Like it was like old, old. Yeah. I loved all of it. It was incredible. And I thought it was really cool for her. I don't know if you saw, she posted on Instagram how her body has been a topic of that performance and she just kind of spoke out about how everybody was being so awful about her body, but I think she looked beautiful and like for her to actually speak out about it was really like inspiring to me. And she's happy with the way she looked and I really love that.

Yeah. Love ain't easy when it ain't my way. But it gets hard when you lay here making me crazy. Baby, say the word, darling. You know just how to hold a sucker down. So I'll see you in the morning. I can't watch you walk out. I do have a couple quick rapid fire questions. I want to know the last time you cried on certain situations. Okay, so the last time you cried happy tears.

Um the day "Make Me Cry" came out. Or no. Whenever it was top ten. I cried out whenever it hit top ten on iTunes.

Um last time you cried ugly tears.

Uh like a few days ago. My makeup was like just going crazy. I think it was because I used to ride horses and like all my friends were like doing something around horses and they were posting about it on Instagram. I was like, I miss riding horses. Don't you feel like I feel like that's just typical girl situations. You just cry over nothing.

Yeah, I just started sobbing.

Yeah.

Um last time you cried listening to a song on repeat.

Speechless by Lady Gaga is like still my favorite song and that was on like her first album and I always I was so upset about that.

Last time you cried over something completely ridiculous and unnecessary.

I don't know. I cry over random stuff all the time. Like I'm literally the most emotional person ever. Like I'll just cry for nothing. Oh. Okay. I got to wait there's a horrible story on this. I remember. I remember. I got two shots in one day. One on my right arm, one on my left arm. But now my right arm, I can't lift past here still. Like and I got it three days ago. But I went home from the doctor and I looked at my mom and I was like, mom, I can't move. Like I just like so she was looking up all these like just all the things that could go wrong after getting a shot. And I'm like sitting crying. That was probably the most ridiculous thing I've been crying over.

That's not that ridiculous. I think I would cry over that too.

I was really scared.

Um have you ever cried from fan girling super hard? Like at a concert or over any celebrity?

Yes. Yes. I cried at the Mumford and Sons concert.

Have you ever cried over a boy?

Yeah. Yeah. Who hasn't, right? All the time.

Um have you cried over any guilty pleasure that you've watched? Like a show?

Yeah. Or a movie? All the time.

Do you want to what is your guilty pleasure?

American Horror Story. And I cry at the end of every season.

I'm going to admit that I cried over The Bachelor the other day.

No.

I swear and I'm like, okay, I just totally admitted that. You watched all the seasons?

Yeah.

You watched Juan Pablo?

Yes. Oh. He was the worst.

He was awful. I cried over that one. All in all, you've cried kind of a lot.

I've cried a lot. I'm a crybaby.
