Young Hollywood

Hey, guys, it is Audrey in the Young Hollywood studio with a lady I'm very jealous of because she gets to smooch Luke Perry on the reg from Riverdale, Marisol Nichols. Welcome.

Marisol Nichols

Thank you very much. Thanks for having me.

Young Hollywood

Thank you very much. Oh, thanks for coming by. All the parents, I feel like the parents of Riverdale are like way worse than the kids.

Marisol Nichols

You're not the only one who feels that way. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

They need like they need some regulation. Yeah. Uh you're a parent yourself. If you could give any advice to Hermione, what would that be?

Marisol Nichols

Don't marry Hiram. Don't do it, girl. Chase go, go, go after Fred. Go after Fred. Stay, stay that route, but she didn't and she went that way. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Fred's super handy. Like he could fix things.

Marisol Nichols

He could fix things. Luke can fix them too. I found this out. At WonderCon, he can fix things too. He'd be great. His dream is to like be on a set, being filmed like driving construction equipment. That is his real life like dream. Like we'd get onto his, we'd get onto his set and he'd be like, "Oh, that's a so-and-so bulldozer." And that's a blah, blah, blah. I've driven one of those and that's like his I'm in that. He's that guy. Yeah. He's that guy. I thought. Like yeah, no, I I I really enjoy that. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Um so you so don't marry Hiram is your number one piece of.

Marisol Nichols

That would have been my warning to her. Yeah. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

And with uh your TV daughter, Camila, she actually had a little video message for you and a question she wanted to ask her TV mom. So we're gonna play that right now.

Camila Mendes

Hey, Marisol. Just gonna ask you a quick question here. Who is your biggest crush on Riverdale? Boy or girl or anything in between? Can't me. Can't me.

Marisol Nichols

Um, okay. I need to answer that, don't I? My biggest crush on Riverdale. Yeah. I would say it's, it's probably a it depends on the episode, but there was an episode, two episodes ago, that it was hands down Skeet. Oh yeah. It was hands, because of the vulnerability that he showed as Jughead's father and trying to get better and the struggle and he was so good. So, I would say for that episode, it was Skeet. Then other episodes I I have to say Luke. I mean, I can't not. You know. And I know it's a '90s thing. Those scenes are not hard to do with him, I can I can tell you that. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

I can I can see why. Your relationship with Camila, she said that it's been such a hashtag blessing that you guys get along so well and you've talked about that, too. Yeah. Um yeah, tell me about meeting her and and forging that relationship, the mother-daughter relationship.

Marisol Nichols

Yeah. Uh yeah, it's been from day one, I was, I was just thrilled to meet her that she was playing my daughter and so excited that she was brand new and this was her first sort of, first gig, right out of college. Yeah. Which I thought was really, really exciting and kind of reminded me of when I first moved to LA and started this whole foray into this, to this field. So I was just genuinely thrilled to meet her and she was such a genuine personality and so good. Like so good, I was just immediately like, okay, done. We got this. We're in. Yeah. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

And you guys have, but but on the show,

Marisol Nichols

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

there's I don't want to say healthy, well, yeah, healthy tension,

Marisol Nichols

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

I think that we can all kind of relate to. Yeah. Uh how do you build that, I guess, with her?

Marisol Nichols

It was really important to me just that they, I felt that their history together, they must have gone through hell in New York before they came to Riverdale together and so that would have forged their relationship stronger and together and ground them, very much so. Right. And so whatever tension there is, I felt like they'd gone through so much together that that base of love was was there. For sure. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

I think we can all relate to that as as daughters. Yeah.
