I'm in the Young Hollywood studio, joined by the very handsome Chris Wood. How are you?
I'm so well.
You're looking good.
Oh, thank you so much. You are very good. I was gonna say the same about you.
I'm glad it's Friday 'cause apparently it's alright for me to go that way on a Friday.
I didn't know that was the rule.
Yeah, it is a rule.
Okay. Oh, this is a newsflash.
Oh, yeah. This is a bit awkward.
It's not mandatory, right? It's just optional I think.
I think I've just got rejected. It's alright. That's rejection everyone, that's rejection. Let's move on to uh work talk 'cause obviously the relationship is going nowhere. Kai Parker. Vampire Diaries. Sometimes that's me. Another good-looking man. He's, he's alright if you like crazy. I love crazy. Of course, people would know from my past relationships. Vampire Diaries. How was it going into a show like that that's obviously massive, Vampire Diaries?
Oh, it was great.
Do you feel pressure though, as opposed to going into a show where everyone's new?
Well, they're all so mean and horrible. You know, they're just
I hear that. Nina's got a real
Just a bad. Bad track record of killing, actually killing the actors. And
Real life.
In real life, yeah. That's why we never see them again.
Really? I've heard of crazy actors before but killing. Actually murdering your co-stars. That's aggressive.
Kill your darlings.
That's aggressive. Quite literally. But you, you're actually probably one of the meanest people on it.
I, I am probably the meanest right now.
Probably the meanest.
Yeah. I was trying to be nice by saying probably.
Definitely. But you are.
I am. Yeah.
You are. Without a doubt. You are very relatable.
Yeah, I mean it's sort of, it's sort of me. Just an all-round arsehole. Yeah, just It's nice to walk into work and just to get to be horrible like I am, you know.
Right. Do you prepare yourself for that? Like in the morning you're walking into Starbucks and be like, "Coffee!"
Yeah, I snap some necks every day and sort of, you know, if there's a sharp object I find somewhere to put it.
You have been killed a couple of times. How is it being killed on, on camera?
You know, it's, uh, it's confusing sometimes 'cause you're not actually dying. I don't know, I don't know if they told you that but it's, it's not, it's not real either. They don't actually kill you.
No, it's not real. Nothing, nothing is real. But you make it look so real.
You know what, I, I've died a few times in my life so it's nice to get to use that finally in my craft.
Right. To draw that into your work.
Absolutely.
Channel that. It's brilliant. Um, but yeah, playing a lead villain in Vampire Diaries, how was that a like fresh take on your acting career?
Oh, it's the best. It's the best. It's so, it's being the bad guy is like, I mean, I don't think anyone wants to be like the cop when you play cops and robbers as a kid. You know, I don't know for you.
I enjoy being nice.
Yeah, if I had to pick, I'd be the bad guy.
Okay.
I'd be the bad guy. But it's nice, it's nice to do like back to back, to go from one and to the other, you know.
Right. I mean, Nina, she's, she's, she's gone. She's no more. Ms. Dobrev is moving on.
She's no more. She got fired.
She got, she got fired.
Yes, she's probably I don't know if that's the truth.
They talked with it. Yeah, that's right. I'm kidding. Of course she wouldn't get fired. Um, but can we give us a little bit of, uh, dirt on the finale. Is there, uh, well there's a lot of Did she die? We don't know.
I, I can't tell you that.
If I ask you again really quickly, did she?
I can't tell you that.
Okay. You didn't trick me. It's a sound bites, they train you. You're clever. We should say that she died and it was say, Yes! It'll say whatever you make, whatever you decide. Here at Young Hollywood we make our own decisions. Can we give us a little bit of, uh, dirt on the finale? Is there, uh, well there's a lot of Did she die? We don't know.
Yes, I believe so.
So you're, you're the villains really?
We are the villains, yeah, we are the villains. We are the villains. I'm just like thinking sound bites and I know how you guys, you know. Edit. Very clever. Very clever. We've got our own tag team right. That's why I'm here really. To come out with that. If you were to go back in nine, into the '90s, say '94, '93, um, from the present in real life, and you can only take three things with you.
Yeah.
What three things would you take from the present to the '90s?
You, the stag and that camera. And we could have, we could have Good night! Let me tell you that. And see now you take the sound bites from earlier, put it this all together and
It's a groom, me, a camera, bride, and tag team. Tag team. How on shows like this 'cause a lot of people, people do die, um, how far in advance do you know like if you're gonna get
Yeah, if you're gonna get killed. Uh, well, for example, like I killed a bunch of people like this year.
Right. Right.
I've been responsible for that. So they'll call, and Julie will call some be like, "Hey, you're We're killing you off, right?" And it's sort of, it's sort of weird. It's usually a phone call or an in-person thing.
Right, right.
But there's always this weird sort of excitement like I'm getting killed. You're going to kill, you're going to kill you, and then the person is, uh, the sort of qualify that and feel good about the story point but also about the job ending.
You could come back though, right? With a show like this that's the thing. They'll always got super. To come back.
Yeah, the supernatural. Yeah, exactly. Part of it. Exactly.
And you mentioned Julie. You're doing her other show, right? Cordon. Okay. Um, which is from a, a term of, uh, cordon sanitaire, which is basically a quarantine. Okay. Um, so it's a, it's a disease story. Takes place in Atlanta.
Yeah, just cool. Just stay right there. It's all good.
You're not a method actor, are you? This isn't, you wasn't cast because of your disease. The coughing. Totally fine. Okay. Cool. Um.
No, but it, it's this disease breaks out in Atlanta. And I feel like I'm like beginning to just
Yeah, that's the, uh, the little thing I put in your water. Sorry. And then, and then you put, you put this here so I can brows over everyone. Make eyes at Matt Damon while I Could what's that game that people play? The, uh, is it like Russian roulette with gloves? No. No. Spin the bottle. No. Um, where you kill one kill Oh, yeah. shag and What is it the other one? Kill marry. Okay, shag, marry, kill. Shag, marry, kill. Pick up that sofa right now. That not the sofa, that. The clap, the sofa. Put it on your head. Alright. Right. Show me, show them the thing so we know who we're picking, right? First, we're gonna do, uh, marry. Do I get to, do I have to actually pick or am I just scrolling? No, you're doing it. You're doing. Um, marry. You're gonna marry someone. Oh, oh my gosh. Daniel Radcliffe. Oh, okay. It's a bit mad. But it's not as too far-fetched for me. Ha. Um, shag? Uh. I can say shag, right? Yes. Randi Kerr. Is that her? Yeah. She can have a Kerr. Good. Um. Or. Do drink. Or sober, you know. I'm kinda. Kill. Kill? I think so you're, you're shagging Randi Kerr, you're marrying Daniel Radcliffe and you are going to kill, um, John Hamm. Okay. Just 'cause I think, you know, it might create for an interesting Right. Non-existent. And he's handsome. He's handsome. He's got such a great smile. He just got a great smile. Makes you want to kill someone. Great smile. Great smile. But this is exciting though 'cause you're going into How are you gonna deal with this show? So this is shooting in Atlanta. It does, yeah. Which is handy. Yeah, that's convenient, honestly. Just walking across the street. Popping across, it's across the street. It's even better. Essentially, yeah. It's brilliant. Yeah. Um, and, uh, and how you find Atlanta. You relocated there? I, I like it, yeah. It's good food. There's great food. Great restaurants. Heavy, hearty, delicious. Food's good, yeah. Um, what do you, uh, what do you, what one thing that you love to do with This is for the Atlanta Tourism Commission. Right. Um, what do you like to do when you're not working? Um, in Atlanta, you know. I should do. There's this, there's this thing called the BeltLine. Which is this remarkable bike path that goes around the whole perimeter of the city. And there's art exhibits around the whole thing. See, that's 'cause I've been to Atlanta two times and I've never heard of this. It's great. It's great. And if you run or you bike. Or you bike. Can you drive it? Uh, you could you could have someone push you in like a car. Or Segway's are great. Segways. Do they not use them yet? Maybe there's a business idea for me. Perha, perhaps you could open that. BeltLine. BeltLine Segways. But We should wrap this up. More sound bites. Vampire Diaries, this handsome man. Watch it because of him. And then, uh, Cordon as well. They can see you on that. CW. Check that out.
Same network, same place. He's not going anywhere this man for a long time. Especially now. Staying right here on the sofa. On the couch with you. Yes.
