What's up Young Hollywood? I'm here with the legendary Patrick Starr.
Hi. What's up? How are you? What's new?
I'm great, I'm great. I just launched my MAC collection. My collaboration. I worked at MAC before. If you guys don't know, I worked there, I slaved there.
And now you're the brand.
And I'm saying that I am the brand now, and it's such an honor, such an honor.
Okay, honestly, like when you wake up in the morning, don't you kinda like low key pinch yourself like, yo, this is like my life. This is a thing.
Yes, I do. I woke up at five this morning. Interview after interview. It's just so surreal that I'm able to talk about my story and my journey and to have uh my subscribers and my extended family online just to see me uh going about my day doing what I love and to inspire them to do what they love too.
Yeah. You know what's so crazy. I was like stalking your IG and I saw, yeah, come on now. We we're all guilty a bit. But um, I was definitely checking out your Instagram and you had a picture of you before and now. Oh my gosh. And you were just telling your younger self, don't be afraid to be yourself. Don't be afraid. Don't be so hard on yourself and all those different things. Was it a weird feeling like being able to have that type of dialogue? I know that kind of sounds like strange but, why?
It was so weird 'cause 'cause I've interviewed before too on the carpet and I think I was interviewing Sir John, Beyoncé's makeup artist for a video and and with his success and his fame working on Beyoncé aka Nala or whoever she is. To follow his career in the cosmetic world, the makeup world, I I I asked him that same question and I was like, I'll never get asked this like what would I tell my younger self. And he started to well up in tear and I got emotional. But I thought it would be a great way to inspire other people to where they are in their life. And it's just I think it was that was very hard to write. And if you could write to yourself, just all y'all try it. It's really crazy.
Honestly, it was it was beautifully executed. I'm not even kidding. I'm so proud of you and super happy for you for everything.
Thank you.
For real. Now, let's take it back a little bit. When you first started your YouTube channel, did you ever imagine it to like escalate to where you are now?
No, I I think even today, I I think it's just I'm honestly so chill. I don't wake up like this for all y'all out there. I don't wake up like this. It's really really crazy. I think looking back, I never never thought that I would be doing celebrity makeup having a a global campaign or collaboration with a a huge world-renowned company with all these celebrities. Like MAC has partnered with everyone. Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, RiRi, my sister. Comey. I'm waiting. Just a matter of time.
I saw the Rihanna thing was
Yes, it's just crazy what vulnerability can do on on such a platform that that's accessible to literally everyone.
Got you. Yeah. Now, let's talk about the AIA.
Yes, I am hosting the American Influencer Awards with Candy Johnson. She's I'm Candy. Shout out to Candy. I love Candy. Love you, girl.
So, I'm gonna know. Yeah. From you. You definitely embody such a confident person and you're all over the internet. You get faced with a whole much of comments. They're good and bad. So, I want to know personally, how do you manage to stay so confident?
Girl, you just block the haters. You block the haters. Keep your blinders on. It's a race between you and yourself. 'Cause I think I think for me, it's you literally have to control the comments because I don't want someone's baby or baby daddy or
So, do you do a lot of blocking going on?
I I not blocking, but I definitely filter comments because it's my social responsibility to control all of that. So, I don't want someone's daughter or grandchild or grandmother seeing all these X Y and Z words that are super inappropriate, super hateful. So, I think it's a I I took it upon myself to um to block those words.
You also have an e-snap chat show called Face Forward.
Face Forward. Yes. As you know, as that little gay Filipino chubby boy from Orlando, I was stuck on makeover shows. The element of transformation has been so inspirational to me. So, having my own makeover show on Snapchat it's insane. The views and the accessibility.
Oh my God, well congratulations again.
Thank you.
I'm not even kidding, like this needs to be a thing like.
It needs to be a thing.
You're so much fun. Thank you so much. And if you guys haven't, make sure to subscribe, follow, poke, like, all that stuff.
