Hey Young Hollywood, I'm Larissa Wall here in Venice Beach with Josh Hutcherson who may just be one of the new up and coming vampires on the scene.

So, tell me a little bit about the new movie?

Uh well, it's called Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant.

Vampires are pretty hot right now and it's it's a new twist on a vampire movie that involves a whole bunch of different freaks.

Like there's a wolf man, there's a bearded lady played by Salma Hayek.

The story revolves around this two uh friends who go to this freak show and they see all these crazy things and then they end up becoming enemies throughout the show and uh they become vampires.

Why do you think it is that vampires are becoming so big on the screen right now?

Because the 80s are kind of big right now and like in the 80s you had like Interview with a Vampire and then like The Lost Boys.

So like that maybe that's kind of why that's coming back a little bit.

I don't know but vampires are just awesome.

They should always be in.

What are some of your favorite movies?

Oh, I uh I love Donnie Darko.

It's probably my favorite movie of all time.

I love The Hangover.

I thought that was hilarious.

What about actors and actresses at least that are, you know, right now, who do you pull inspiration from?

Um I actually I like Shia LaBeouf a lot.

I think he's a really cool actor.

I like his style.

He's I think we have a similar style like a lot of things are of his like understated and kind of played small and that's sort of how I act and you know, I also love Jake Gyllenhaal.

I think he's an amazing actor.

What what kind of music do you like?

I again, like with movies, I'm all over the place.

Lately, I've been getting into like MGMT and kind of more like Indie rock sort of kind of uh feel and like some Indie pop like Metric and The Shins, I love them a lot.

Do you want to get into music?

Do you want to get into I don't even know what else is out there, producing or?

Yeah, for sure.

I uh my family and I just started a production company called Jetlag Productions.

And um basically we uh we we're trying to get movies made, you know, find great stories that need to be told and going out there and making it happen.

On your downtime, which sounds like there hasn't been much of this summer.

But okay, when the summer's over and maybe you'll have a downtime day here or there, what do you like to do?

I love going to the beach.

The beach is the best.

There's nothing better than when you're over in the Valley and it's like 300 degrees outside.

It's like an oven.

And you're saying, I want to go to the beach.

But then it's like you get over here it's like 65 degrees and windy.

You're like, okay, I want to go back to the Valley now.

You're coming of age, you're young still and you're hitting these great things.

What else do you want to accomplish when it comes to working in this industry?

Um, well, you know, I definitely want to have a long career.

I think that's every actor's goal.

At least mine is that I really think that I I would uh have a good time at directing.

So I want to try that for sure.
