Dev

If you want to get with me there's some things you gotta know.

Dev

And we've got baby goons, hot, marijuana and guns.

Young Hollywood

Interesting crew.

Dev

Amazing people.

Dev

I like my beats fast and my bass.

Young Hollywood

I'm Oliver here at Young Hollywood Studio with the young and talented Dev. How are you?

Dev

I'm good, how are you?

Young Hollywood

Good, thanks for coming in.

Dev

Thank you for having me.

Young Hollywood

For anyone that doesn't know Dev, Dev sang that song that stuck in my head and couldn't get it out. Um like a G6. How was that? Suddenly a song coming out and it's everywhere. Number one.

Dev

It was amazing. The Cataracs and I had been working together for a long time since 2008. Um but no, I actually put up a random a couple random songs I recorded into my MacBook on GarageBand. Um and put it up on my space and the Cataracs found it and we haven't stopped working since.

Young Hollywood

I love that. I'm kind of confused by some of the lyrics. I'm not that hit.

Dev

No, it's okay. Looking at me you probably thought I was. And would assume that I was really hit, but it's all just hard work.

Young Hollywood

Okay. Um sipping sizzurp. What's that?

Dev

It's a reference to cough cough syrup.

Young Hollywood

When you're not sick, even if you haven't got a cough, you'd sip cough syrup.

Dev

Okay.

Young Hollywood

Okay, that's strange. Um, so that's the other one the drank the purple drank. That's probably a cough syrup endorsement deal for me somewhere. I was thinking. I was thinking I was gonna have, you know, truckloads of cough syrup delivered to my house.

Dev

Yeah, NyQuil.

Young Hollywood

Boom. NyQuil, if anyone's watching in the promotions team, Dev, look it up. I mean, come on. You're only 21, right?

Dev

21? Yeah, I'm about to be 22 on the 2nd of December.

Young Hollywood

What are your birthday plans?

Dev

I have a show.

Young Hollywood

I like that little shimmy.

Dev

You like that?

Young Hollywood

It doesn't somehow look as good when I do it. It looks like I've got Tourette's or something. I was like How. Okay. We just done with a British band JLS. Yes. On their track. They're mental. They give me a complex because they don't stop doing sit ups.

Dev

I know, isn't it crazy?

Young Hollywood

Does my head in. We did we shot a video together and they were doing dance moves in tank tops and backflips.

Dev

Oh, I can do all that too.

Young Hollywood

You can? Okay.

Dev

I just choose not to.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, of course. Why do I want to do backflips and stuff and, you know, work out? Exactly. Um, you've got to work with some amazing people already.

Dev

Uh-huh.

Young Hollywood

I've got a little thing for you. Um, you have to tell me the first thing that comes to mind when I say their name.

Dev

Oh god.

Young Hollywood

And you can be honest. Okay. Travis Barker.

Dev

Marijuana.

Young Hollywood

I love your honesty. Timbaland.

Dev

Marijuana.

Young Hollywood

I knew that was going there. Ah, it's so bad.

Dev

And No, it's only us. And beatboxing. He beatboxed a lot.

Young Hollywood

Okay.

Dev

With his mouth. Isn't that cool? Like I get to beatbox.

Young Hollywood

Can you beatbox?

Dev

No, not at all. I wish I could.

Young Hollywood

Can you?

Dev

I can.

Young Hollywood

Get out. You can?

Dev

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Can you do it?

Dev

I don't think it counts as beatboxing.

Young Hollywood

That's beatboxing. Okay. Well, then maybe I can do it. Go on, then try it.

Dev

No.

Young Hollywood

David Guetta.

Dev

Um camera phone.

Young Hollywood

Okay.

Dev

He like bombarded me in the booth and just started recording.

Young Hollywood

Mm-hm.

Dev

I've never had anybody do that to me, not even like my friends.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, that's very invasive. So it was cool. It was cool. I find that invasive. Especially when I'm in the shower and people just charge in with a camera phone. It's just weird. The fact that I don't know them is even stranger. Um, 50 Cent.

Dev

Guns. I think I did I did a lot of singing about guns and body bags on the song we did together.

Young Hollywood

Usher, who you've recently toured with.

Dev

Hot.

Young Hollywood

Really?

Dev

Yeah, he's so pretty.

Young Hollywood

I I can't really comment on that. He's a little hot. New Boys.

Dev

Uh, they're my baby goons. They have a lot of swag. Those two.

Young Hollywood

Okay. So we've got baby goons, hot, marijuana and guns. Interesting crew.

Dev

I work with amazing people.

Young Hollywood

Who haven't you worked with that you'd like to work with?

Dev

Probably Nicki Minaj. I think she's really cool. I've actually I kind of stalked her um website yesterday.

Young Hollywood

I'm glad you said website at the end. stalked her website. Yeah. The new album? It's called The Night the Sun Came Up. And it's a bit different as well, isn't it? It's not just got like upbeat songs and stuff.

Dev

Yeah, I know. There's a lot. This was my chance to finally sit down. And the Cataracs as well. And put out an album, so there's a lot of good stuff on there. Some slow ones. Some ballady stuff. See a different side of this. My heart a little bit. You can see my heart.

Young Hollywood

We'll wrap this up before I get a little bit too close.
