"Street Dreams" Skate Pro's Tell All

Welcome to Younghollywood. com. Hey guys, it's Michelle Marie here in front of the world's largest skateboard. Here at the premiere of Street Dreams. The movie that's set to revolutionize the world of skateboarding. The last time I saw you Rob, you pretty much saved my life.

Oh God, this is really sketching me out right now. You sure you want to do this?

Yeah. You might you might need to put the helmet on for this one.

Can't say that I saved it, you just thought better than than to tend the risk of this, you know what I mean?

Right. Well the cool thing is that we talked to you there, tell us about the whole vision that you had with this film.

It's a true feature film. It's a coming of age story. We liken it to like Skate Mile or like The Karate Kid of skateboarding, you know, but it it's the conflicts and the struggles of what someone is going through when they love and have so much passion for something that nobody understands, you know, and nobody believes that their dream is worth chasing, but they don't give up on it, you know. And and in the end they accomplish it.

We talked to Terry Kennedy, Jason, and also, I saw Ryan Sheckler last night. It's all skateboarders. That's the greatest thing about the movie. What did you love about making it?

We had so much fun and so much chemistry between everyone in the movie and you can tell, you know, that we're all actually friends in the movie because everything, you know, rolls off a little bit better, so it was a, it was a fun film to make and finally, you know, there's a legit skateboard film out that, uh, you know, true skate fans can appreciate.

All the guys are here to support. How do you feel about the turnout tonight?

I mean, I'm psyched. I mean, I I was baffled by the amount of people that were across the way. I didn't realize, you know, there'd be such a crowd, you know. So it was really cool. It was it's flattering. You guys are hanging out on the world's largest skateboard. It's like a giant piece of art, you know what I mean? It's like such a spectacle that it's something that I get to bring here and and make it ridiculous, you know, so it's cool.

I'm here with Paul Rodriguez, aka P-Rod, the lead in the film. Now the up and coming street pro from Chicago. Derrick Cabrera about to take the crown from our veteran champ, Dre Vincent. Let's see how he does, folks.

Not only are you an actor in real life, you're also a skateboarder in real life. So you're basically just being yourself. So can you tell us how relevant your character is to who you really are?

In school, I didn't always pay attention. I was sometimes daydreaming about skating after school. So it wasn't too far outside of my character.

All the skateboarders just all came together and you guys have so much chemistry. Tell us how it was on set with you.

We're all in it together. So like it was like we were each other's security blanket, you know. If I felt nervous, I just know that they're going through it with me, you know what I mean?

We do have a song in the movie. And I did I actually contributed to the score. I did a piece specifically for the score as well. And these are friends of ours. So, you know, I'm here to support Rob, here to support Chris Zam, and and and all the guys involved in the film.

We're back over at the Fantasy Factory. We had a good time and we talked we talked about the movie. I'm bummed I didn't bring my board. I'd teach you how to skate. I'm so like, I owe you. Owe you big. What can you expect from your role?

My role in the movie, like I'm saying, you can expect so much high energy. The Compton ass Terry, the Terry Kennedy, T. K. , all the personalities that are drive in that is within me, like just spreading around the

Yeah, this is coming out. How do you think this is going to compare to all the other movies because it's coming from a different perspective?

This is the first movie that's been done by skateboarders, for skateboarders. I mean, you can't compare this to the Hollywood made movies. And especially like Rob funded the production of this film, you know. He put it out of his own pocket. And so I think partly people are just like, "Oh man, you know, we don't want to piss Rob off. We got to get this movie done." Shout out to Young Hollywood. Check out Street Dreams. It's the best skateboard movie you will ever see. It's funny. Make sure your parents approve you going to it. Boom, boom, bang, boom, boom.
