Silicon Valley Cast Describes Working With Dead Pigs

Hey guys, Young Hollywood is here at Paley Fest and we're going to be hanging out with the cast of Silicon Valley.

I love your character in the trailer. You look so stressed out and so shy. Are you like that in real life at all?

Oh man, I'm laid back California man. I'm California kid now.

So this show's about startup companies. If you could create your own startup company what would it be?

Maybe it would be uh an answer generator to the question what startup would you create.

You know, I haven't seen any of it, but I was there when they shot it. It's going to be the most different season yet.

What can you expect?

What do we look like? Previous seasons the guys are constantly face planting and and failing and this season they become successful and then uh resume face planting.

We're witnessing the sort of uh the snowballing effect of Pied Piper getting bigger and bigger.

Actually, you know, if you imagine when you think of the show, what you see in your head, it's very different from that.

I mean, I hope we live up to your expectations then. You seem just like you are in the show, just really raw and funny. I noticed also a lot of animals, like a dead pig and a bear. A bear. What was that like on set?

Well, uh I tell you when the dogs were there, uh there's lots of dogs. I won't give the reasons why or what happens, but for me, a dog lover, when I got to set one day and there was like 100 dogs, I was very very happy.

Did you not see the bear? I don't remember the bear.

Like a dead pig and lots of dogs.

Oh yes, there was a dead pig.

Why?

I'm in that scene.

What's that like?

Uh it was not a real dead pig.

Oh good.

Somebody makes like imitation dead pigs. I bet they don't sell many of them.

Animals don't fare particularly well in the world of uh Silicon Valley, at least in the fictional world. Uh Gavin Belson has the ongoing animal genocide basically.

I didn't have too many interactions with animals. There was one day with a bunch of dogs and that was kind of sweet because I like dogs. So fun. They were so fun. But I uh the dead pig I I had very little quality time with, yes. It was very realistic. Terrifying.

Um and then we did have a day where we had like 40 dogs on set. Um

Is it fun?

It's very fun but it's also very difficult because, you know, they don't always listen to you.

It was not around the animals. I'm legally not allowed to be around the animals.

Keep you at 100 feet.

Yep. Not because of me, because of the animals.

because of the animals?

Yeah, they they attack.

They didn't have much dialogue, which was very helpful, but they weren't really hitting their marks.

Were there any diva dogs on set?

I mean, one we had to we had to have removed.

Before you go, if you could describe season 5 in one word, what would it be?

Um One word? Oh my God. One word is a lot of pressure.

It's a really hard question.

Yeah, it's a harder question than I expected here today.

Season five in one word. Uh Let's see.

Spicy.

Um Spicy.

Um Essential. Absolutely essential.

Uh, computers.

Revolutionary.

Shocking.

Oh, shocking. I like that.

Yeah, I mean, listen, if we're already showing you a giant dead pig, what are we hiding?
