Hey, I'm Jill Wilderman, with Young Hollywood. Now, I think I found the perfect party for Young Hollywood. It's all up and coming, rising stars. You may not recognize them now, but I guarantee you're gonna know who they are, soon. Welcome to Young Hollywood. Here with the creators of Rio Star. You guys are sponsoring tonight's event, along with some other good sponsors. And you have some models in the show. They're gonna be showing off your jeans. Tell us about your line.
We started the company about four years ago. Um, we've been friends for a very, very long time. I grew up in the industry. Um, I've lived in Hollywood all my life and, um, I've been in the clothing industry since I was a kid. I used to buy like vintage and new products, and I started my own stores, and that's how I met him. And we always wanted to go in business together. And we had a love for vintage clothing, and that's how we started Rio Star.
Here is Funny Man Jay Davis. What, what are you wrestling around here with?
I got a free, they give you free, What am I allowed to say here? Am I allowed to cuss? They give you free, free in the bag. Seriously, I'm not even kidding. Like, you come to these parties, you know, if you get on TV, like even if it's a commercial, they're gonna take your pictures over here, they're gonna flash it, you feel cool. And then they take you over and they give you a bag, and they give you free. And, uh, listen to this, a lot of stuff is for girls, which is great. So, they gave me thong underwear. I'm not gonna wear it, but I'll give these to my girlfriend, right? Then they gave me this fancy tequila. Okay? So, what I'm gonna do is give the underwear to my girlfriend, then give her the tequila, and then I'm gonna take the underwear back.
We're hanging out here with Daniel Bukao. How are you tonight?
I'm doing fantastic, fantastic. Just coming out to, uh, to support Volcom and the fashion show.
How does it feel to be a Young Hollywood, rising star?
I mean, it's hard to put that in words, I think. I'm gonna start stuttering in a minute. Uh, it feels good, you know, like growing up I never thought I would be an actor or be like even somewhat famous or a celebrity. So, it's, it feels good. I feel like what I'm doing out here in Hollywood is paying off.
This guy just said, I, can I give away her age? I don't think I should be. He said, I don't think I should be here. I'm not young. I'm 25. I'm gonna hide my cane. You know. No. First of all, Young Hollywood is not about age, it's about attitude.
Attitude, I like that one. In that case, I will be young and hip until well into my 80s.
What advice you have to, to Young Hollywood, to people that are trying to make it in this crazy business?
Well, I, I, the first thing is to have a dream and stick to it. Um, I struggled many years before I made it, you know, if I've made it. So, um, well, thanks. But, uh, I never, ever, ever gave up. I had days when I was discouraged, but I never really contemplated giving up at all.
I got the worst, oh, sorry. The worst heckle I ever got, um, I used to, like when I was a kid, I used to have a one-armed English teacher. So, I would always put my arm in like I had one arm, and I'd always go, hey, what's up, what's up? And I had a little stub sticking out, and the one-armed teacher thought that was hilarious. He'd always be like, I'd always high-five him with my stub. He was a, but he was a cool guy, he thought it was funny, right? So, it was something I used to get laughs at when I was a kid, so I used to do this joke where I had no arms trying to masturbate, right? Well, it was a funny joke, the crowd was laughing, and then, um, a one-legged guy hopped on stage mad, and then it was like a horror fest, it was like a funeral. It went from laughter to complete deathly silence. But he was actually the guy that won the first Big Brother. The guy with one leg that won the first Big Brother. And if I had known that, I would tell him to, you know, take some money and get yourself a new leg, I mean why?
So, don't forget the faces you've seen, you're gonna be seeing them again. For Young Hollywood, I'm Jill Wilderman. Young Hollywood is here.
