Young Hollywood

What was the biggest difference of the vibes on set for season 1 with you guys versus now season 4?

Never Have

Uh, things, I think, moved a lot quicker in season 4, you know, just because we all know each other so well and, you know, it's like a well-oiled machine. Um, but it's a family, so the biggest difference is saying bye and actually having to say bye at the end of shooting, you know?

Young Hollywood

So you play Ben's girlfriend in the show.

Never Have

I do. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

How was that, how was that?

Never Have

It was great. Um, everybody was so welcoming. Jaren and I had a lot of fun. And, um, yeah, it's funny because I really enjoy everybody on this cast, but I only got to film with like a certain amount of them, so it's like my Ivan and Jaren and, um, you know, I was saying that like some of the family scenes and being in the Vishwakumar house and like, that was really cool to be able to be like, okay, I'm in scenes with other people. This is fun. It was great. So kind of peel out a little bit. Um, but it but it was a lot of fun.

Young Hollywood

What has the past years been like for you?

Never Have

Oh my goodness. I mean, it's, you know, the show's obviously changed my life for the better. Um, just being able to play Fabiola and the fact that this character has inspired so many people and also all of the characters, um, everyone's able to see themselves in them. So it's been such a privilege and I have so much gratitude for being a part of the show.

Young Hollywood

So this is the final season. We're all very sad about it. But what would you say how was playing Ben over the years?

Never Have

I mean, it's a dream come true. You know, I it's it's hard even to put into words like what this show did for me. It was seriously something that I've wanted since I was 5 years old to be on a show that means so so much to so many people all around the world. There are countries that are so passionate about the show where they know my face. I I can't even speak in their language. I've never been there. I can only dream of maybe going there and to have them send messages from around the world. I mean, it's mind-blowing. It really is. A person in in particular I want to shout out, it's Adam Shapiro. He was one of my favorite person people to work with. He's standing right next to me right now and that's the only reason why I'm saying.

Young Hollywood

But what if what if someone else was standing next to you?

Never Have

Yeah, I would probably give whoever was standing next to me the credit. Um, unfortunately, it's Adam Shapiro.

Young Hollywood

What's a secret from the set? So is there anything on set that you're like, oh, that's weird that's there or like maybe like a secret like snack they have?

Never Have

Oh, I just remember uh apples with peanut butter and the granola on the outside. I think that was like one of Crafty's like super snacks or something. And so I would I would get those kind of on my way out. Maybe take it home or something. Good power snack. We love that.

Young Hollywood

What are you going to miss most about playing?

Never Have

I'm going to miss Jaren Lewison. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

What are you going to miss most about Ben?

Never Have

I mean, the complexity, the depth, the writing. The writers did such an unbelievable job giving me so much to work with. And same thing to be said about my costars. They made it not easy but as easy as as it could be because they gave me so much to play with, so much to work with. And again, not every set is like that. So being able to be with like our family, which I know it sounds cliché and every actor says that, but like seriously, if that's one word to describe like us and our show, like that's what I would use. Seriously, like we all are going to be in each other's lives for weddings, births of children, like all that stuff, like all those big milestones, we care about each other and our fans care about the show, we care about the show. I feel like it's just a collaborative creation and you can feel it, you can feel that love.

Young Hollywood

You definitely can, especially like the carpet and the screaming. Oh my God. I like I'm speechless from that, seriously. And what's three words to describe this season?

Never Have

Three words. Oh, um three words. Um, celebratory, warm and loving. Yeah, yeah, it feels very like, you know, graduation and, you know, the endings and also the beginnings. It's it's very very cool. I think for for the audience and also for the stories. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

What end game do you want for your character?

Never Have

What end game? You know, I think that she's already really getting to a really amazing place by the end of season 4 of really coming into her own and standing up for herself and doing what she wants on her own terms and, you know, I think it can only go upwards from there. And I want to see her live her life in Baltimore, which is where she moves in season 4 and I don't know if that was a spoiler, but whoops.

Young Hollywood

If you could picture Paxton in 10 years from now, where what do you think Paxton would be up to? What would he be doing?

Never Have

I think Paxton like, I think he drops out of school for one. Um, again, because he figures out he doesn't need a degree to teach. So he goes to Hawaii and he starts teaching surfing and parasailing and just has a grand old time being a beach bum. That's what.

Young Hollywood

Honestly, Hawaii doesn't sound bad. He's got a bad idea.

Never Have

No, not bad at all.

Young Hollywood

In what end game do you want to see for Devi?

Never Have

Hmm. Continuing on this path of self-love.

Young Hollywood

What do you want end game to be for Ben? Like if you could write his storyline compared to what happened, or maybe you would agree with that.

Never Have

Okay, it's a cheesy answer, and if my Tré and Jaren were here, they would make fun of me. But, you know what it is? I want him to be happy. I want him to be happy and I I know. But I do, seriously. He's gone through a lot and I think his entire life, he hasn't found what that means. He he is struggling to like embrace who he is. I hope he finds himself and I hope that he lives his life with kindness and positivity rather than realizing that like, oh, if I don't achieve like this goal, I suck because that's not true at all. Like you have so many different paths in life and he just needs to do his best.

Young Hollywood

What about end game for Devi? What would you do for?

Never Have

Yeah, again, I mean, the same thing. I think if my Tré was here, she would also like that answer. Devi's just got to be happy. She's got to keep working on herself, find out who she wants to be in relationships, make her partners better and have them better her as well. So, I think that that's really the biggest thing. It's it's it's a self-love theme, I think here. In relationships in general, I think. That's my advice in general, not that anyone asks, it's unsolicited, but love yourself and then hopefully others will follow suit.
