Julie Bowen on Going Behind The Camera as Producer on Disney's Prom Pact

It was um, a totally different skill set that I had to use. Um, I'm very used to going on a set and being given words to say and then going back to my trailer. Uh, it turns out producers work really, really hard and I did not know this until I did this movie. And I have nothing but respect for them. But I did have producing partners in Rachel Field, Melvin Mar, um, obviously our whole team of Disney that supported us all the way. So, I was very much not alone. Boy, I really like doing this movie and I'm super proud of it, but I kind of am super psyched to get back on a set, too. I know, I'm gonna appreciate it much more. Oh, yeah, absolutely. That was super involved.

Yeah, we didn't know that Blake was Aussie in his first few auditions cuz they were taped. And we had no idea. And then I was like, wait. He's Aussie. Makes him all the cuter. Love them all. Milo um, originally read for Blake. No one could believe that he could play a nerd cuz everyone loves him so much from Zombies and a thousand other things he's done. And uh Peyton was already attached when she read it and she's really the reason why the whole movie got made. So, we're super lucky and she brings so much to the role. Oh, yeah.

And then oh and some of the the supporting characters, too, Jason, all those kids who are in the all throughout the high school were all phenomenal and really integral. I did not. I went to a boarding school, so we didn't have a prom cuz it would exclude people or I'm not sure why we didn't have-- We just didn't have a prom. That's very interesting. Haley would dance a lot and maybe get drunk. Um Alex would be wearing like something sensible in the corner and uh and I don't know, Luke wouldn't show.
