Jane the Virgin Cast Talk Final Season & What's Next

Hey what's up guys? Young Hollywood is here at Haley Fast and we're hanging out with the cast of Jane the Virgin. It's the final season. Let's go see what they're up to.

Can't believe it's the final season. It's crazy. I know. I mean, I've known about it for a while so I've I've had some time to process but I will admit that I go through moments of of of panic and like I don't know, it's just bitter sweet, of course because I mean, it's been an amazing ride and of course, you want to end on a high note.

Final season. I can't believe it. How you feeling?

Bitter sweet? Oh, at the moment, terrified. Every time I'm with all my cast. I see these people all the time, I see them everyday on set but usually I work with one or two of them at a time. And now it's, you know, when we're all together it's really like, oh crap, we're not gonna have any of more of these group events.

Thank you. I've worn this 75 times. I wear it to every single thing cuz I only own two pieces of clothing apparently. But it's great, right?

Okay, it's the final season. How are you feeling about that?

It's crazy. It's uh it's good very bitter sweet. Um people are gonna love this. Exactly five years ago is when I got the audition for the narrator. So, no, so it just felt like the other day where I recorded it and submitted it. Yeah, it just flew by that fast.

Tell me about that audition. What was that like for you?

I didn't want to do it because it said it was about a virgin who was accidentally artificially inseminated. So I was like, no, I'm not gonna do this. Then I read it and the layers were just so it's exactly what you know now in the pilot, all condensed into one. I said, oh I have to do it. So I submitted it, a month later they told me I got it and they told me I was invited to the table read. Since I'm a voice actor I've always been in my booth. I have no idea what the table read was. I had to Google it. But I am ready to move on into other things.

So What do you wanna do?

Well, I'm looking to directing and producing, so I'm actually working on some pieces that are more documentary, but um but I'm working on a couple of personal pieces. So I'm excited about that.

What do you wanna do next? Movies? More TV?

Both. Yeah, I love working. The truth is I'm I really love working. Um if I have a week on Jane that I'm working like one day, I'm like, why? I want more. It's just it's, you know, and Jane really is an amazing job to have. It doesn't feel like work, but uh but I do love my job and I want more of it.

Well, I'm doing a new show called Schooled on ABC. It's the spin off of The Goldbergs. I've been doing that for the last like six months. And uh

What about films? Like would you be in like a horror film or something like that?

I would I mean, not really horror, I'm not a fan. I like comedy a lot. It's more it's more so my thing. I like comedy. But uh maybe if it was a funny horror movie.

What is it like being a voice actor? I mean, drink a lot of honey? You have a lot of tea?

I don't. I just try not to drink as much milk in the morning. But that's about it. And I don't smoke. That's because it causes a lot of like congestion, you know, built up a lot of traffic. It's like the 405 in my throat. And yeah, so I just drink black coffee, I do shots. I do about 10 shots of espresso a day though, so yeah, yeah, I know. It like one? No, some days I feel like I need to. But it's just because I gotta get the kids out and then I gotta get back in the booth. So I don't leave. I don't get to leave the booth. And so this is a rare opportunity to get out and see humans.

People watching the show probably think they know you but what would people be surprised to know about you?

Uh, I'm a lot more conservative than Xiomara. I am not so like vivacious and sexy. I'm a lot more conservative. I walk around in well, if you watch my Instagram, you'll know what I look like normally, which is like no makeup, my hair tied up in a bun. I'm in workout clothes. That's like my normal MO um and I tend to be shyer and quieter. I mean, I can be an extrovert when I need to be for example, talking to you. But I tend to like be quiet and reserved.

I collect Pokemon cards. I have a ginormous vintage Pokemon card collection. And it's insane. I have like sealed box products from 1995 that are they don't even make anymore. They're first edition. Dude, it's crazy.

He's a true 90s kid everybody. Everyone had Pokemon cards. Everyone.

And I got I do dude. You should see it. It's crazy.

You should sell them.

Well, I do here and there. I have dude, I have like hundreds of thousands of cards. I'm not kidding.

It's funny, when people see me on when younger people, I would say, see me on the street. They're they're surprised that I'm smiling at them and not like barking an order and walking away or you know what I mean? Yeah, they're like, oh, you're nice. I'm like, never had to convince people I'm nice so often.

So people are surprised that you're nice.

Yes, people are surprised I'm nice.

That means you're a great actor.

Yeah. Because you're doing such a good job. Thank you. I mean, I would hope. I know. I take it as a compliment. I'm like, thank you for not knowing I'm a good person. It's so funny that people like blur the lines and think oh she must really be like that in real life. You know what's crazy, I'm in this industry. I play a character on TV. I do the same thing when I watch TV shows. And then I meet them at red carpets, I'm like, you're actually nice. I do that to I do the same thing.
