In the Spirit with "Winters Bone" winners

Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hey there, Tatiana Diana here backstage at the Spirit Awards. Let's see who we can catch up with.

Congratulations on your win on best supporting actress. Let's see the trophy. Isn't it beautiful? It's really heavy, too. You're almost as gorgeous as you.

Oh, aren't you sweet, darling.

So, how did it feel winning the award?

I I I still don't believe. It doesn't feel real. No, I knew it was going to come up early. They were like, make sure you're in your seat, not in the bathroom, because your category is soon. They told everybody that, but I just took a deep breath, and when they said my name, I was like, what? What? Really?

Okay. So many great actors actresses for the same role. How does it feel to be the one that everyone chose?

It's just such an honor. It is. It's an honor and it feels, of course, it feels wonderful, but I saw everyone else's movies and I've been fans of many of those actresses for a long time and I've met some of them during this process and it's like a celebration of everybody's film. Of course, it's it's lovely to be recognized particularly for such a mean nasty role. Most people run run away from me on the street, so, um, but I'm not so mean, I'm kind of nice.

You're the sweetest ever.

Sometimes if I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, I ain't so sweet.

I'm well. How are you?

So, how did it feel to win?

I was a shock, uh, of sorts. So,

Really?

Yeah, yeah. I mean, I I don't ever have any kind of uh No. expectation really.

I thought you were going to win. You did. The movie is just brilliant. And Dale Dicky was actually in here when you won and she screamed at the top of her lungs. She was really happy for you.

Well, I grabbed her when she won because I was sitting next door. So, uh, that was great. I mean, that's that's the other thing about all of us is that hopefully it brings people to our movie, that people will see this film, because it's it's something that I'm really proud of.

So, are you having fun at the awards?

I am. Yeah. This is a great award show. Uh, I've been in a few independents myself, and it's uh, it's great to see them get their due.

Who are you rooting for today?

Oh, so many. Uh, a good friend of mine, Daphne Rubin-Vega. She was nominated. I'm a huge James Franco fan. There are just great movies. And I always get to see a bunch of movies that I didn't even know existed. So, so uh, I'm going to go out and uh, and run a bunch of uh, independent films tonight.

Anybody that you are rooting for that won already?

Uh, Dale Dickey. I've known Dale for many years and she's just one of those actresses that always blows me away, and I'm so happy to see her acknowledged tonight.

And you're actually somebody who's in a lot of indie films. You like that whole world.

I love it. Yes.

What are you working on?

I did a movie with Jesse Eisenberg and Jess Weixler, um, who I both worked on other independent movies with separately, but we all came together to do this one called Free Samples.

It does seem like the indie film world, they all kind of work together. It's like you work with one person, then you you have to repeat it. Why does that happen?

Well, I think it it takes a certain kind of person to to get involved anyway. They're like, there are lots of actors around who make decisions about what project they should do next based on either money or how they think it can help their career or something like that. And you find the people who go, no, I want this is a great story. I want to tell this story and I want to share this experience. And so you start to find that it's the same actors who are attracted to the same kinds of projects. You find similar tastes. Just like in anything. You're in high school and it's horrible and then you leave and you go somewhere else and you go, oh, these this is my group of friends. These are my people.
