What up, Young Hollywood? Ruby Wilson here at the Dolby Theatre for the 2019 PaleyFest. I want to chat it up with the stars of Fox's drama 9-1-1 to talk about all things, the new season. Let's go.

So we are here for the second half of the Fox drama 9-1-1. Can you fill us in? What can we expect? What's in store?

Well, what's happening? You know, I mean, more, you know, exciting adventures and, you know, going on. You know, the the episode tomorrow, I mean, there's a shark on the freeway and big rigs, jackknives, and you just wonder how we do that.

Your character, Maddie, is a 9-1-1 dispatcher. Yes. Now, if you could switch lives with her, would you? If so, yes, no, maybe so.

No.

Why not?

No. Because I have natural anxiety and I feel like I would be the worst. Like, I would hear, you're what? What? Oh, God. Oh, no. Stay right there. And I feel like they'd be like, "Lady, you're supposed to be calming me down." Yeah, no, I would not. I'm done.

I I think it is it's a very bingeable show. I kind of like to think of it as high-class popcorn. Like, it's it's easy to watch, but it also packs a real heart and and does make you want to keep on going. So, we we have fun.

Because of the earthquake scene, were you quaking?

All of that. Okay, I thought that was just a really good plan. Yeah. I thought that was just a really good plan. And there was a a Christmas tree, present wrap. It was just a lot of going on. I I just couldn't deal.

Yeah. The last episode actually got me because I started thinking about my actual son. Right. And if ever I was in that position, I mean, I was crying the whole time I was doing that scene. I was like, "Oh my God." "How am I gonna how am I gonna do this?" But no, you're you're right. The the TV show has so many ups and downs. Right. It's one of those things that you just enjoy the ride.

Speaking of snacks and things of that nature, the first thing that comes to mind for me is craft. Now, I want to know.

Craft services?

Yes. Oh, okay. It's it's a whole vibe. Oh, yeah. So, for you, what is like your guilty pleader, snack, go-to snack?

You know, they do have tucked away for me my epic jerky.

Cool. Epic jerky. Spicy jerky. What's your What's your favorite flavor?

The bison, the savory sweet. And the chicken. So, between the two, but the bison. And they also have my kombucha. I love I love ginger. I think I had cayenne last night, and that was a little too hot. Yeah. It was a little Yeah. It's good. It's good. If you feel like you're about to catch something, chug that. So, those those are two my two guilty's cuz I gotta stay away from the M&M's and all that kind of foolishness.

Yes. Because Yes. Because when you're like late at night, the chip, like you need the chip and the cheese. You need that crunch. Yeah, you need that. I'm done.

I like a lot of fruit. Like, a lot of fruit. Okay. So, I sometimes end up walking away with like five, six bananas.

So, so we yeah, and they'll be like, the rest of the cast are used to seeing that. But like we might have a guest actor or actress on the show's kinda looking at me like, "Really? You're not gonna eat all those?" And then I I kinda sit there and one by one, I get through them. Um, so so uh, high uh, high quantity of fruits are my go-to when it comes to crafty. Second guest: Donuts, it's PB and J's. It's it's all the worst food you could possibly have.

But you're like a a health nut. I mean, I'm not. Second guest: No, I'm not a health nut.

Judging off of your IG, you're like kickboxing and just your your wifey looks oh so dangerous. But that's why we we stay in shape. We I mean, we train three to four hours.

Oh my God, that's disgusting. I literally just threw up. I'm not even kidding. I'm just I feel like my gaydar is pretty freaking good. Your character, um, I don't know. Can you fill us in? Second guest: I don't know. A lot of people have clung onto that and and seen it and if they see it, I'm I'm more than okay with that. Um, and you know, with the if the writers want to take it there, I I think I think you're right. I think the ingredients are there where they they could spin off from that direction. I I have no knowledge of whether or not it will go there. Yeah. But if they do, I think that'll be a cool thing to show that you can, you know, have this young, cocky firefighter who who wants to get amongst it, but also, you know, is totally in touch with his feelings. Like that's what we have right now. And if they wanna add, you know, that that he may be gay, then I'm all for it.

They're really good friends. The bromance is heavy, that's for sure. Second guest: That's what they that's what they all say.

Yeah, that's what they are. You know what? I like the relationship. It started off, you know, a little rocky in the beginning. Um, but no, it's kinda it's kinda endearing how much they care about each other, you know?

Now, lastly, what is one word to describe the second half of the new season?

Thrilling.

Really? Thrilling. I thought of her. was gonna be That's what I thought it was gonna be.

Dangerously thrilling. That's two words.

Okay, I'll take that. Just merge them together.

Oh, wow. I can't wait.

It's gonna be eight big individual episodes. Yeah. I don't want to sound too general and just say exciting, but enthralling. Let's do that.
