On The Set Of "HUGE"

Welcome to Young Hollywood. com. Hey there Young Hollywood, I'm Tatiana Diana and we're going back to camp as we visit the set of ABC Family's new hit series.

So your character is Will.

Yeah.

Tell me about Will. I heard she's causing some problems at camp.

Yes, Will is definitely um, she's definitely totally against the grain. She has blue hair. You know, she goes to the beat of her own drum and that's what I love about Will.

It definitely takes some balls to uh take off all of your clothes. How did that feel?

You know what, it was very freeing actually. It was kind of cool because I feel that you know, I think so much of the plus size community. I know I when I go to the beach, I'm like, oh, I'm in my bathing suit and all these people are better than me. But I think now with that being out there, me being in a bathing suit just standing there like on top of a I was on top of a tree stump, you know, just like, here I am, world. I think it's going to be easier now for me to go to the pool, to go to the beach. I think kids who watch it, hopefully it'll help them get over that stigma too that they can be comfortable at the pool and on the beach too.

You're definitely a role model for women all over the world. How did you become so confident?

It was the way I was raised, truly. Um, my parents just raised me always telling me every day, you're a beautiful little girl. And I never believed anything else.

What is your character? What's your character's role?

Um, my character's name is Amber Stoltz and she is probably the most determined girl at camp. She came here with her eye on the prize and that was to lose as much weight as possible.

You're like the slowest eater I've ever seen.

I chew it right three times. That's hardcore. I've been dieting since I was 10. That's probably the thing I'm best at. I might even skip my dessert.

So the show is not all drama and problems. It is pretty funny too.

It's a funny show. It's it's that's that's the best thing about the show is that it's so funny but you'll always get some something out of it. And there's not really a lot of things out there right now like that.

What did you think when you first got the script for this?

When I read that it was a girl who she was the skinniest girl at fat camp and I was interested in that and I was so excited. Not only to be a part of that process of maybe getting the part, but to know that there was a show out there that's coming out to say it's okay to be voluptuous, it's okay to flaunt your curves and it's time to let people know.

What did you think when you first heard about the show?

I thought it was a fantastic idea. I thought it was timely with everything that's going on in the country right now and actually as as we explore it, it's it's it's a worldwide epidemic, you know, people are getting bigger and bigger and and diet and exercise and good nutrition is becoming so important. It's always been important, but now it's sort of moving its way into the the forefront.

Is Dr. Rona a tough cookie?

She is. She is, she can be. You know, she's she's here to help everybody and she's got issues of her own. Um, that she's that she's fighting with every day and struggling with every day. Um, and so she can recognize all of that in the campers around her. And she's quick to point them out and um, here we are on set. It's really hard. You really are. Um, and she's quick to point them out and she's quick to to help them and and hopefully they'll get a lot out of it. But yes, it's not just all serious. There's a lot of wonderful humor that that that comes out of this.
