Welcome to younghollywood. com.
Hey guys, I'm Billy Burke. I'm here at the photoshoot for uh TD Ink Magazine. This is David C. Lee, the photographer. We're gonna pick out some stuff to wear and uh hopefully have some fun doing this.
Hey Young Hollywood, I'm Michelle Hummel. We are here with Billy Burke, who plays Charlie Swan in one of the most talked about movies of the year, Twilight. Now, how do you like being a father to someone who falls in love with a vampire?
At its core, this movie is really a love story. It happens to have some vampires in it. Kristen Stewart, probably one of the most uh gifted young actors I've ever worked with.
Now, what do you do to kind of create that father-daughter relationship with an actor that you really don't have that relationship with?
The first time I met Kristen was on the plane up to Portland and I saw her sitting in the in the seat just in front of me and I wanted to introduce myself, so I just kind of went up from behind and said, "Hey, I'm your dad." Which was shocking to her and I think somewhat creepy. But uh from that point on, I think from that icebreaker, we got along so well. There were a lot of moments on the set where we really could sort of find some solace in each other amongst all the chaos.
Now, speaking of chaos, the premiere of this movie has exceeded almost everyone's expectations. We knew it was going to be big, but you've been spending time on the red carpet and people are going insane.
Yeah, I've never seen anything like it. That's the equivalent of our like rock show. It's really refreshing to see excitement like this about a movie that there are no stars in per se, but now there are, I mean, Pattinson and Kristen are gonna be, you know, going through the roof after this.
Got something uh crazy and fun going on with your hair. Is this a Robert Pattinson thing that you're going for now? Crazy and fun?
Unfortunately, yeah. The Pattinson didn't didn't patent this by the way. Pattinson kind of has the same mentality as I do. I mean, we kicked around up in Portland a couple of times and had a couple of drinks, a couple of laughs and he's got the same kind of ethic that I do.
What's the one thing that you always will grab in your closet?
I got jeans, a couple of leather jackets. You know, I grew up in the eighties and uh my style apparently has not transcended the ages.
What do you think everyone's fascination is with vampires?
They stock around in the night. We all like that. Um they live forever, everybody wants a piece of that. Um in this movie apparently, vampires are the best looking people on the planet. So who wouldn't want to be one of those?
Hey guys, I'm Billy Burke. Once again, you're on Young Hollywood. Thanks for uh hanging around.
