Yes! Nice! Okay! Okay! Okay! Okay! What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, about to take you under the Big Top and behind the scenes at Cirque du Soleil's Luzia. Okay, and you are a trapeze artist. Yeah. With Luzia. Thank you. And I just wanna say you are stunning up on that bar. I've seen the show. I know a little bit about you, you've been doing this since you were nine in Montreal.

Guest

I really love circus 'cause I feel like it included like so many different kind of arts, acting, dance, theater, music, everything. So, I did three years of school in Montreal, like a college program and then I auditioned for Cirque du Soleil, so I sent my video and then I got this contract for Luzia. So, I jumped into the adventure and here I am.

Guest

So, put your hands on the bar, thumbs around. Yeah. That? So, now go under the bar. Yeah. And then you you will want to reach that bar with your toes. Yes. Nice. And then hook your knees like this, and then let go of your hands. How do you feel? Good? Awesome. See? All by yourself.

Young Hollywood

Now, what do I do?

Guest

Okay. Now, reach for the ropes. Yeah. Look up. And then, yes. Okay. And then pull yourself.

Young Hollywood

Oh. Nice. Awesome. Oh, easy. I was born for the circus. How do you do that? And that isn't even your hardest twist.

Guest

No, it's pretty simple. So, I can show you. One leg goes this way, and the other leg goes this way. When I started, I was four years old. I asked my mom to take me to a circus show. We went that night to the circus show. We watched the show. And I fell in love with circus.

Young Hollywood

Show me a little bit about how you do this. But don't break me in half.

Guest

So, usually you have to be prepared to start stretching. You have to be warmed up. Okay. So, I do simple exercises like pretty basic stuff. Awesome. I warm up my shoulders, chest, my hip. And you got my shoulders going. It's really on the trapeze, so. So. We're good. You're already.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, I'm ready.

Guest

And then I start doing splits for warm up.

Young Hollywood

Wait, the split is the warm up?

Guest

Yes. Uh I mean, for me it is warm up. Uh before I go on stage, it takes me 40-45 minutes to prepare myself for the performance. A little bit, a little bit, a little bit. Little bit. This will good? Yay! More. Oh, no. A little bit. Very good. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. And scene.

Young Hollywood

I'm just watching you on stage in your sweats, working out, figuring out the moves. Is it ever changing? Is that how you keep it fresh? You're constantly working on this show.

Guest

Yeah. Yeah, I mean, we have to train to keep our bodies in shape and also we try to like up the level sometimes so we're not always doing the same thing. So it stays interesting for us as well.

Young Hollywood

Now, this isn't your first Cirque show. You come from a family of circus performers. So what's it like being a part of this family? Is it different than other shows you've been on or it's all kind of similar? Second guest: For me it's different from her because she did the creation of this show but me I arrived one year ago and they accepted me like I was family right away. And they made me give 100% since day one so it was really fun. Second guest: So normally we use a stack of hoops with magnets that we stack. We can do two hoops, we can do three, we can even do four. Let's do five. What's you five, Mike? Yeah. Let's do five. Okay. No. No, we won't do five. I'm kidding. But when we train, we usually use just a hula hoop like this. So we don't break the the material if we don't make the trick and also so we don't get injured because those are like wood stuff.

Young Hollywood

Are those the ones you use in the show? Second guest: Yeah. Yes. A little jump. And tuck your hip. Okay. I think for you we can go right away. Listen, Mr. Fab. Yes. Good job. Wow. Yeah, super good. Take your bow after. Yeah. Act number. Yes. And with the wings. Oh. Imaginary wings. Yes. Nice. You guys are the stars.
