Adam Scott & Alex Frost: "A Vicious Kind" of Fun

Welcome to younghollywood. com. Hey Young Hollywood, Larissa Wohl here at Oakfire Pizza in Los Angeles. I'm here with Alex Frost and Adam Scott from the new movie, The Vicious Kind. We're going to talk to them in between bites and find out what the experience was like. Nice to meet you. Oh my gosh, I've heard so much about you. I feel like you're famous. Okay, are you you guys going to get in there or Do you want the window seat?

Might be a little more comfortable since you're not

Oh no. No, it's fine. I can uh I can totally hear you. FYI. Right here, I'm like 4 ft from you, so if you want. Are you done chatting? Okay, come on in. What did you learn from each other doing this movie together as brothers?

He's funny, I'm not funny, so I learned how to be funny.

Alex is hilarious.

Is that what you learned from him?

Yeah. It's a story about a hermit who lives in a small town. That's who I play.

How's that pizza, Larissa? We shouldn't be eating and conducting the interview at the same time. You're making the interview like 40% more delicious. How is it for both of you getting into character when you read what your character was kind of made of? How did you get into that role?

Alex in the movie is so great at playing this like young, innocent, virginal boy. But he's so not this character.

I was going to say, are you saying he's not virginal?

Well, I don't want to speak for Alex in that regard.

All right, Alex, so, who are you in real life?

That is a very good question. I'm still figuring that out every single day.

All right, well, what do you like to do when you're not acting?

When I'm not acting, I like to surf and skateboard a lot. And I like to write, hang out with friends, you know, all the normal things that people do.

I read that you have one of those stories that everybody wants and very few people get, kind of like a walking down the street and getting discovered story. Uh fill me in on that a little bit.

Uh, I was like 15 and my friend that I was skating with told me that he had we wanted to go to this casting call and so I went with him and uh got my picture taken and then eventually they called us back for auditions and things like that and I booked my movie. It was called Elephant and I did it when I was 15 and uh it won a bunch of awards at Can Film Festival and Toronto and New York and all that and uh eventually got my foot in the door to start doing what I'm doing.

I'm still waiting for my day that that happens to me. Oh my gosh. Jesus Christ. What about you? What do you like to do when you're not busy acting or eating your pizza?

I have kids. That's basically all I when I'm not doing this. Like I'll go straight from here home and I'll be very busy.

How many kids?

17 children.

All right, you have your hands full.

No, it's a lot. I I don't know their names. I know three of their names and that seems to do fine. I have two kids which sometimes feels like 17. Other than work, that's that's what I'm doing usually.

I'm watching you guys over here. None of you are eating your crust and I am a huge crust person. So I've got to know. Crispy or soft stuff?

Well, I like crispy things very much, but the soft part, I mean you can't, you can't avoid the Canadian bacon and pineapple. I just got to get in there, you know?

I'm just doing this because there is a crust depository just like 3/4 of a mile from here. I'm just trying to I'm just loading up. I'm going to drop by there before I jet home.

Are you a pizza guy or are you like a let's go out and have an Italian cuisine along the water?

I'm an Asian tapas and cemetery movie guy.

Whoa. And you?

I don't know. I'm not going to I don't want to go to the cemetery to eat. I don't know what the you're talking about.

Back to the movie. There's heartbreak in it. You are dating a girl. You have had heartbreak from a girl. Uh tell me any real life stories of that.

Usually in the driver's seat with relationships I've been in. Um this I don't know. It's not true.

Have you had your heart broken?

No. No, of course I've had my heart broken before. I mean you fall in love, you fall out of love. These things sort of happen.

Good. You both are taken. Very good. Very good for LA standards. Okay. Now we're sitting here eating pizza.

Sorry, is that a proposition? What is this? What is this? What's going on?

I'm married. So, Larissa, back off.

New favorite movie. Fight Club. How come?

Because it's the greatest movie ever made.

Favorite movie for you.

Fight Club. No, it's um I would say either The Jerk or Yeah, it's probably The Jerk. I like The Jerk a lot.

Favorite music.

I like hard rock and heavy metal.

Rock and roll music.
