Young Hollywood

What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, joined by one of the most decorated wrestlers ever.

John Cena

Me? Oh, here, too. I'm Young Hollywood. I'm also here.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, but you have another title. I'm going to introduce you. Okay, what? Repeat host of the Kids Choice Awards. Can you believe it?

John Cena

I can't. I can't. I honestly can't believe they asked me back. But we're here to do it again.

Young Hollywood

You had so much fun last year. You had to come back.

John Cena

Anyone who's ever been to this show knows that it's fun. And I had an awesome time hosting. It really is built for the audience. That's what I admire most about this show. Nickelodeon builds this show for the kids.

Young Hollywood

And then April 23rd, your birthday.

John Cena

Yeah, I turn 18. Amazing. Fantastic. I don't know what I'm going to do. I can vote. That's I know I'm going to do that.

Young Hollywood

What do you get the man who pretty much has everything?

John Cena

Time. Please. Give me time. There's not enough time. I mean, I can say that right away. Uh, could we add a few hours to the day without telling everyone else? Just if I could have some. If you're out there and you're thinking of a gift, I don't know, a fancy hourglass, that's magical and freezes time, so I can do some. I forget. What I want? That's fine.

Young Hollywood

You know what? It's funny you mentioned time. Steph Curry has a birthday coming up too, and he just said the same exact answer, time. to be with his family.

John Cena

Oh, I thought it was to work on his outside jump shot.

Young Hollywood

Uh, he can drain from half court. He's fine. He's fine. But yes, I can, I can agree with you there. Steph Curry. Basketball legend. I understand your philosophy.

John Cena

Well, you're a wrestling legend.

Young Hollywood

Oh, thank you. Of course. It depends on who you ask. Come on, you've watched the show. Listen, I'm asked, I actually, I asked my seven-year-old nephew, who has, has to be your biggest fan. Okay. And I have some questions from him, because he's a kid.

John Cena

I have answers.

Young Hollywood

So Kids Choice Awards, kid, seven-year-old. That means these will be awesome questions. But you're ready?

John Cena

Yes, I am.

Young Hollywood

The first one is, who is your favorite wrestler of all time other than yourself or your fiance, Nicole?

John Cena

Oh, those are great questions. My favorite wrestler all time as a young person was Hulk Hogan, because Hulk was popular in, I can't believe I'm saying this, the 80s. That's kind of where they based Stranger Things off of. That's why I actually grew up in. I had a Trapper Keeper, and I kind of liked Hulk Hogan. As I got older, I liked different wrestlers. I think another one that I could say is Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock also falls in that category, fan of the Undertaker, although not so much now, but that's okay. So there's a good group of you.

Young Hollywood

How did you come up with your signature move, the Attitude Adjustment?

John Cena

Well, so many people when they challenge me to matches, they're very trash talky, and they're very sarcastic, and quite frankly, they're very angry with me. And I was like, "Man, you got a bad attitude. You need an adjustment." Wait. I discovered the perfect finishing maneuver, the Attitude Adjustment. So although it looks like I thwart my opponents and defeat them, it actually makes them go from angry to happy.

Young Hollywood

Happy?

John Cena

I mean, it's an attitude adjustment. I like to think that's what it does.

Young Hollywood

Wow. And at what age did you know you wanted to be a wrestler? At what age was I like, hey, I would like to be a WWE superstar?

John Cena

Hmm. Right after I graduated college, probably around 22. Now, I loved WWE growing up, maybe as early as five or six years old, but I always thought like, man, this seems impossible. And then when I was a young man around 21, 22, I was like, you know what? Impossible's just a word. I'm going for it.

Young Hollywood

So last year we talked about how you prep for hosting duties. We're talking about getting pumped and getting our blood going.

John Cena

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

You remember we did a little sprint up and down the stairs.

John Cena

Oh yeah. And that was before I was 40.

Young Hollywood

Now you're things have changed. You're stronger now.

John Cena

No. No.

Young Hollywood

Have you seen yourself? Look at these muscles coming out of your shirt.

John Cena

No, this is padded. Why do you think I wear suits everywhere? This is padded.

Young Hollywood

You look good.

John Cena

No, underneath this, it's feeble.

Young Hollywood

You look good. Okay, fair enough. I got a 15-inch waist. Okay, we're going to just do We're just going to get our blood pumping just a hair, a little bit. I'm going to tell you what we're going to do. It works. Her heart rate just went up. Pick a number from one to 10.

John Cena

Six.

Young Hollywood

We have to do six pushups.

John Cena

Ah, son of a gun. Yeah. Son of a gun for me. So wait a second. Do we have to do three and three?

Young Hollywood

Would you like to do three and three? Yeah, let's do it for the team. One, two, three. All right. My teamwork is done. Okay. You want to hold that for me?

John Cena

Yes, I will. Okay. One. Amazingly enough. So I have some questions for my seven-year-old nephew. Who is your favorite WWE

Young Hollywood

You've already done three. Five. You've already done three. Six. You did the work for both of us.

John Cena

I did. You should take these back before I think this ship.

Young Hollywood

I did it in stilettos.

John Cena

You did. I did. So I, I will concede. You've won this round. I think I won the last one though. So it's tied. We're having fun and exercising.

Young Hollywood

Fun, Kids Choice Awards.

John Cena

Yeah, you're darn right.

Young Hollywood

And this is the point like where we have to formally end the interview. This is always worked for me. You know what's coming. We're out of here. You can't see us. We were never here in the first place.
