The Women's Sports Foundation Hosts "The Billies"

Welcome to Younghollywood. com. Welcome to Young Hollywood. I'm Michelle Marie, bringing you to the Billy Awards, celebrating excellence in female athletics. Now, tonight is hosted by the Women's Sports Foundation and we're also going to bring you insight for a special performance by Elton John. I wonder how wonderful life is.

Well, you're in the Well, tonight's always about the media and really uh thanking them for portraying women's sports in a positive way and it's in journalism, entertainment, breakthrough and innovation. So that's really the essence of tonight. Billy Jean King is uh an amazing woman who has, you know, encouraged like young women athletes to get involved in sports, to play, to have fun because sports has changed my life.

If you weren't in skating, what what job would you think you'd be doing right now?

I would probably be involved in another sport, moving. Like I have to keep on moving. Just I my grandmother used to say, why don't you sit down and relax? I'm like, I can't, I can't. Second guest: I think when you hear a name like Billy Jean and they ask you to be a part of it, you kind of jump at that chance. You know, she's a legend, somebody I was a big fan growing up watching and just for the betterment of women's sports. This is what it's all about. I'm going to have a daughter here pretty soon. It's very important for the young ones to get started early.

What did you do when you were younger to motivate you to be where you are today. Second guest: I did pop Warner football, which I was absolutely horrible at. I was actually the worst kid on the team. But I mean just really getting that experience at a young age, kind of prepares you for life.

What is it about tonight that draws such a crowd, do you think? Second guest: Well, I think Billy Jean puts on a great foundation and I think a lot of people want to support our women's sports and I have two daughters. I've played with some great guys and had some great coaches and I'm just blessed to be able to accomplish that. Um, that's the ultimate is the Super Bowl, the ultimate, ultimate goal.

I have to say I gave up every other sport I was doing um after my first ride and I was hooked immediately from then and now 10 years later here I am, which I never would have thought.

Make them say I'm like, see when he walks in the house, everybody has the party. It's fun. I'm just sitting in my house and just like make them say That's going to be the song. That's what happened with music. It got to come to you. You know, it's people that sit down and just try to think and think and think. It's the most simple things that end up being some of the most amazing things. What's up y'all? It's Master P, Young Hollywood. I'm here, I'm in the building.
