Hey, what's up? I'm Ledley. This is Young Hollywood, and we are at the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game red carpet. Green carpet. Wing stop carpet.

And I remember when I was young Hollywood.

Guys, World Champion basketball player. I'm gonna give you a prop on the carpet. Four-time. Yeah. World Series champion. Yes, ma'am. An Olympic runner. Hit the hardwood. I see you got a ball for me. Look at this. I got a ball for you.

Okay. Well, some. And I'm out of here. Basketball, I'm ready to play. Listen, I don't I can't show all my tricks right now. If you smell, you don't smell any popcorn yet, right? I gotta wait till I smell the popcorn to get my juices flowing. You feel me? Yeah, I do this. Missing a little bit of air. You know?

They're talking about the vibe here for the celebrity game, but a weekend for the All-Star game.

The vibe is great. The energy is great. Always having an event like this in LA. It's always gonna bring a lot of people out, a lot of interest, a lot of eyeballs. So, what I've noticed since this morning that I've been doing a lot of uh stuff that the energy is incredible, so I love it. The vibe is good, it's fun, it's youthful and vibrant. The energy is high, people feel like they're in a good mood, ready to have a good time. I'm feeling good. I think as good as you can be at my age. You know, it's uh, the last time I did one of these things was three years ago, I was three years younger, my legs were three years younger. I actually played here in 2019 as a freshman in college. To be back as an artist now and not a basketball player but now I'm back on the court, it's like a lot of worlds are coming together right now.

What does a world champion player bring to the coaching position?

Been there, done that, as they say. Played at the highest stage that there is. I just want my my players to have fun. You know, go out there, be loose, run up and down.

You are now coaching.

Yes, ma'am. Yeah, I'm coaching basketball. I didn't wanna turn this chapter on in my brain yet because I got six more years of of baseball left and I wanna enjoy those as a player.

Breakdown your team. What are you bringing to the court tonight?

So, Lethal Shooter is our coach, AKA Chris Matthews. He can make a shot from anywhere. So, we definitely have the coaching edge. We have Lethal Shooter. The guy is an absolute machine. I actually did play in college, I played in high school. Um, I was blessed to play professionally. What people don't know is, I'm a psychopath when it come to trick shots. You know, you see I'm in cars going 70 miles an hour. I'm on rollercoasters. Yep. I watched him make a shot from a hot air balloon. Um, so that's how seriously he takes it. I always wanna push people to think out of the box. The other team, you know, they got Lethal Shooter coaching, they got Anthony Anderson, you know, but they're a little bit more experienced in coaching but I don't think the coaching is gonna outweigh the talent on our team. Jeremy Lin, Tacko Fall. Tacko Fall is who I'll be marking. He's 7'6, he can dunk without jumping. I can't dunk when I am jumping. Our goals have changed. The main one is, don't get injured. See Lethal. Like, bruh, I've seen all that flippin' and all that jumpin' you do up on the on the Marvel movies. I need to see some of that today, okay? I will humbly say, we entertainers think we're better athletes than what we actually are. Some of these athletes, some of these entertainers are pretty good. But for the most part, a lot of them are trash. You know, people are already telling me like, hey, you know, don't don't try not to run away with me with the ball. Take me back.

Did you play basketball as a young kid?

Yes, ma'am. I played basketball my whole life. Basketball was something that I played I would say probably more than baseball growing up. Wow. Yeah. I don't understand why Mookie Betts is on the opposing side. I don't I don't get that. You know, he's a Dodger, he's a he lives in LA, lives around the corner from me. He's an LA boy now, so I don't understand why he's playing for the other side. So, you know, we'll see, we're we're just gonna foul him hard.

You're coaching, you've played this game many times before. How does that help you coach these guys and gals?

It doesn't. None of these guys can play basketball. These guys are all celebrities.

Who are your top three players on your team?

To be honest, I don't even know who's on my team. I haven't looked at the roster yet. I may even suit up.

You're in LA Lakers territory. Clippers, talk about the vibe here in Los Angeles this weekend.

It's a city that's steeped in basketball culture and basketball history, you know, coming from the era of, you know, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Kobe and Shaq, you know, Kobe and Gasol. There's there's a basketball pedigree to to LA and, you know, I feel like, Yeah, I just feel like that the two go hand-in-hand. I think it's great. Los Angeles is one of the best cities in the world. I I love coming here and visiting and things like that and the people treat me great. The Lakers never didn't really treat me great grow uh when I was playing ball, but that's alright. They had some good players and they should have beat us. Lady, I'm just here. You're a Laker girl? Yeah. Who's your guy? LeBron. Forever and ever and ever. Comin' in-and-out socks on, no, from California. Let's go. I'm gonna get a double-double after the game. Ask him about the secret menu. on that.
