Star Athletes Celebrate The ESPY's

Welcome to younghollywood. com. Hey everyone, it's Michelle Marie and it's that time of year again, SB Time. We're going to celebrate with the athletes here at ESPN the Magazines SB Style Studio. We are here in the EA lounge with Devin Harris of the New Jersey Nets. You made that miracle half court shot. And we want to know what was going through your mind at that moment.

You know? Uh, basically just trying to get the shot up. I mean, it's you know, 1. 6, 1. 7 seconds left at the full length of the court to go. And uh made it a little bit tougher with uh with Andre hanging all over me but uh right. Just basically just trying to get it up and see what happens.

Right. And you also made the All-Star team as well. What was it like playing in that game?

Uh, it's pretty much a dream come true. I mean, something that you think about when you're younger.

Kobe and Artest, do you see them meshing together pretty well?

I do. I I see him taking a lot of press off Kobe especially on the defensive end and you know, obviously Ron being on championship team it could be really good for them.

So it's all about looking good for the SBs and you are nominated for an amazing award. Are you excited?

I'm very excited. Um, I had the opportunity and the privilege of coming last year and getting to know a lot of people and spending time here, so I'm really looking forward to doing it again.

Now, you won the Heisman trophy before and you know, you've done a lot with your career before you even get out there. Are there any things that you're looking forward to as far as you know, moving forward.

You're right now, I'm just focused on my senior year at the University of Florida making it the most memorable and special that it can be and uh just trying to be the best leader, uh best teammate that I can be on my team right now and you know, the rest will take care of itself down the road.

You've come from a championship with the Lakers. What is one of the highlights that you could say is your most memorable?

Probably Derek hitting those big shots down in Orlando. Um, but for me the highlight was just the whole journey throughout the whole season. Uh just just having ups and downs and struggling and fighting and you know, ended up on top.

I know Phil does a great job getting you guys together. What was the best part about working with Phil?

I think that's it. I mean, he knows how to manage personalities and and let people just be themselves and use their talents um all effectively. The greatest coach of all time, you know, the numbers speak for themselves. So uh I've just been fortunate enough to be able to play for them.

What are your thoughts about Ron Artest now being part of the team?

I think he can be great for us, you know. We we're going to miss Trevor. Trevor was big for us but uh Ron brings in defensive toughness. He's a proven veteran. He plays on both ends of the ball. Right. And he's coming here to win.

You just got some really cool hair products here from the Axe team. Do you know where I need anything for your hair though?

I got a little shampoo. You know, you know, my hair gets a little dirty wearing them hats all day.

Congratulations on all the success with the team. How do you feel about everything so far?

Feels great. Uh, you know, we we got the best record in in in major leagues right now. We're playing really good baseball. We got Manny back. And we're we're doing big things. So hopefully this year we could uh make it further than we did last year in the playoffs, make it to the World Series.

Well, you know, the Lakers won the championship. Now, does that put pressure on you to win this season?

Not pressure, but we want to have that big that big parade like they did for Kobe and all those other guys, La Mar all them to get, you know, get their rings and uh be at the top of their games again. So you know, I'd like to see how it feels to be a World Series champion.

Now, if you weren't playing baseball, what would you think you'd be doing as a career?

Uh, I'd probably be like a model or a singer or something.

Yeah, be a little singer or something.

What kind of music do you like?

R&B singing.

What is your writing all about?

Love.
