On the ESPY's Red Carpet

Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hey everyone, it's Michelle Marie with Young Hollywood and Vitamin Water, coming to you from the Nokia Theatre here in Los Angeles for the 18th Annual ESPY Awards. Hey guys, I'm here with Georges St-Pierre, who is nominated tonight as best fighter. How do you feel?

Yes, best fighter and uh I'm excited. I mean, uh it's a great uh time for reward in my career and good for mixed martial art. The sport of mixed martial art as well.

I must say that your sport has definitely evolved and grown over the years. It's pretty insane how mainstream it's become. How do you feel about the way it's grown?

Feel good. I think now people realize more than than fighting is not here, fighting is more here. And uh it's very important for me that the people recognize that. And uh well, I'm I'm excited for tonight.

When you were back there on the court, what did you do to recoup after a game? Is there a certain thing that you always did?

You gotta rest. And hot tub, cold tub. Ice becomes your best friend. You wanna know what every athlete has in common throughout every sport? Ice.

Everybody's looking for LeBron. Have you seen him? Where's he at?

I'd be very surprised to shocked if he showed up here. Almost as shocked as if I saw him in Cleveland tomorrow.

It's been a while, but I remember last time I saw you, we traded places and you asked me questions, but I stumped you. What's the most important question to ask an athlete?

Wow! I got you. You remember that?

You did. You called me off guard and I was actually surprised and shocked. You know, that's a good job on your behalf. That's when I knew I needed more practice. So you've been here at the ESPYs many times. What do you most love about the show?

I think just seeing all the other athletes, you know, just seeing their accomplishments, uh watching what they did throughout the seasons. And then, I mean, there's a lot of guys you don't get to see, you know, across from NBA, baseball, hockey, actors, entertainers. So, I mean, that's the best part about it. Really, really big day for all the athletes. How do you feel about today?

Yeah, I just honored to be a part of it. It's uh, it's been a great experience.

And the great thing too is you're nominated. That's a huge deal for biggest upset. How do you feel about the nomination?

Uh, like I said, it's just an honor to be nominated amongst these, you know, uh, you know, high-level athletes and just to be walking down the red carpet, it's unreal.

What do you do to revive yourself after a big fight? Do you have anything like in particular, like a ritual or anything you do?

Nothing crazy. Take a week off, hang out with my kids. That's about it.

You do. That's all you gotta do, then you're good. You do. Yeah. So how do you recoup after a game? If you were to say there was something you do after a game.

After a game, all I do is probably go to home and go to sleep. But besides that, that's it.

We're talking to your boy Larry English, he was saying that he's really excited about the next season and now that LT's gone, how do you feel that the team's going to jall together?

Uh, I'm looking forward to it cuz um, with every uh, ending comes a new beginning. So, uh, the LT era was wonderful. I love LT to death, but it's time for Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles to get in there. So we they can do.

So what's going to be going on with you after the after this event? Is it's the afterparty, what really goes on? People want to know.

Wow, right. Well, um, uh, I'm hitting up the afterparty here and I I have the golden ticket tonight. I have the golden ticket to Seth Myers' after party.

I believe it's at Trace, but I didn't tell you that. I didn't I didn't tell you that.

Man, I'm soaking it on. This is my first time so I don't know man. I don't care how hot it is actually.

So what is your experience like? Tell me what you think about the red carpet here at the ESPYs.

I mean there's a lot. I mean I never, you know, really got this much attention. Yeah. Yeah, it's a little new to me. You know, I'm used to just playing games on Sundays and taking it in.

So let's talk the upcoming season. How do you feel about the team as a jelling together right now for the upcoming season?

No, to tell you the truth, man, we're looking real good. I mean, um, the offense alone, we everybody was questioning our offense, but they made a tremendous leap on on on this year just based on our OTAs and mini camp. Quarterback situation looking real nice. A lot of quite people were skeptical about Alex, but I mean he's doing a great job. And everybody we're excited about our team this year.

Crazy fact about you that you're the tallest wide receiver in the NFL. Is that true? How tall are you actually?

I think I have the biggest hands.

How does it feel to have Eli Manning just talking about you how you're like the best kept secret in the NFL, you know?

I mean, Eli's a great guy. He's he's extremely smart. He's a great leader. There's so many things that I don't think the world knows about Eli yet. He's already got one championship under his belt and I think he's got several more in the future.
