Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hey guys, Michelle Mari coming to you from the FP Style Studio. I'm here with Antawn Jameson of the Cavaliers. So congratulations on the success you've had over the years. How do you feel about your performance this past season?
I'm blessed, you know. I'm doing something I love to do. Uh I've been able to be successful at it. So uh I can't complain at all. A lot of people uh are not happy at their profession but uh my profession continues to make me and let me feel like a kid. And uh that's the only thing you can ask for. So I'm definitely blessed to be doing what I'm doing.
I just saw Dr. J down the hall and he said pretty much the same thing that he loves what he does and it's like being a kid. So I mean that's a really big thing as far as like
It is. I mean and growing up, I mean that was that was one of my idols right there so I I kinda I don't wanna act like a fan or like a kid but I mean uh the things that he did to uh pave the way for myself and guys uh that in my generation, uh it speaks volumes.
Yeah. The city is pretty down right now because LeBron made a really big change. So how are we gonna see the Cavaliers transition without LeBron?
It's gonna be interesting. You know, uh it's something that we've been accustomed to for the last seven years but uh you know, it's a business. And you have to understand that. And uh we still have a lot of uh key key pieces, key components that can make us successful. Um and now, you know, you just have to uh step up your game a little bit and play more as a team. So you definitely can't replace a guy like that. You just gotta uh move forward and just continue to uh improve as as a team and as individuals as well.
Yeah. If you were to say maybe one thing you're gonna most miss about playing with LeBron, what was it about him?
Um you know, I I think the one thing is knowing that you were playing with one of the greats. Uh I was only there for a couple of months but uh the way he made the game easy. The things that he saw uh the way he competed, uh you know, you don't get the opportunity to play alongside guys like that and uh I was blessed to do that for a couple of months but it just made the game so much easier. He made it fun, he made it enjoyable. And those are the moments that you know, you wanna you know, save it for as as much time as possible but uh that's probably the one thing I'm gonna miss. A fun-loving guy who loves to play the game of basketball and who just made the game fun to play as well.
So as far as the fans, what are you gonna have to do to actually get them to kinda be back in the spirits again? You know what I mean?
Gotta win. Gotta win. You know, winning solves a lot of problems. You know, winning makes everybody happy. And uh that's something that they've been accustomed to for the the last couple of seasons and uh if we continue that trend, uh it'll definitely start to glow a little bit. And like I said, you know, we still have a lot of talent and pieces around. I think we can be successful as well. So, uh you know, it's not gonna be easy. No. Nothing is. But uh as long as you believe and go out there and give your your all, uh things work out for the best.
No. Coach wrote a very long note to the fans saying that, you know, we are going to win a championship without LeBron, we're gonna do it. Before he does. Do you really see that happening?
Uh, of course. I mean, I'm a competitor. Uh that's about the only thing I have left to accomplish is to win a championship. That's the reason why I came to Cleveland. So, um that's the only passion that I have. It's the only thing that drives me. And I know uh all the other guys in that locker room wanna uh accomplish the same thing. Um even though LeBron left us, we still wanna prove that we still can get the job done with or without him. And uh it's just a challenge. It's another uh bump in the road block. You know, we just gotta continue to uh you know, push forward and uh continue to work hard.
