Let's set up that we are here at an ale pong table. Let's more importantly set up that we're in a field right now.
We are in a field. John is very excited about the fact that we're in a field. We're in a field. Yeah. This is like minus like these microphones, we could shoot a romcom. Do you want to try? This is you and I. Do you want to try? We make when Harry met Sally. Should we in this field.
Are we going to talk about that movie?
No, we should talk about we should talk about neighbors, I think. Let's talk about neighbors. I have a feeling we should talk about neighbors. Um, so wait, so you play a frat.
I play a frat. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's tough research, huh? I never went to college, so I I didn't know.
You didn't. Neither did I. We have so much in common. We're both lefties.
We're both lefties. Yes. Like the president.
Yes. I didn't even know that. You're throwing out some trivia I didn't even know. So you play a frat, so you play you're going to give me for.
Yeah, yeah. I'll do that throughout the. Yeah. So you play okay, so you play a frat boy. Mhm. And so you are one of the people that drives Seth and Rose's characters crazy because you are aiding in the terrible neighbor that is Zac Efron.
Yes. Okay. Yes, absolutely. And um and you know, it starts off very peaceful and quickly escalates into an uncontrollable war. Which is why we have an ale pong table.
Yeah. And we're talking from so far away. Yeah. At the moment. Yeah, I feel so distant from you, else.
Yeah. Our romcom will develop and we'll get to know.
I feel like you're I feel like you're in prison right now. I'm trying to sneak you the. I'm. Okay, so give me a great if we're going to like, we're going to call it like flashback neighbors. We want like a great flashback story of something that happened either with Seth or or Zach or something on set that was just epic. That was just epic. Yes.
Oh wow. Um I mean I'm sure there were a lot of moments with all those boys put together. Dave. Dave Franco and Chris. I mean it We had moments. I mean, you know, where we would just um I don't know I'm trying to think of something epic because you can't you use the word epic and I can't let you down now. Okay. I've said the bar really really high. I think probably I don't even think it was epic like Zach like injured himself like during a fight scene like really, yeah, the stitches and the whole thing after yeah, yeah, injured himself. So, you know, it got it got real.
That's real acting. That's real. So, how did that happen? Was it a real punch? He was throwing and he connected by accident. Does him and Dave have a fight scene?
It's just, you know, they got into it. You know, they like like
Who was he fighting with?
Uh, with Dave.
Really? So, Dave won. Technically.
Technically. Cuz he got him. He's cut. He's knocked out. He's now. Yeah, Dave's going Dave's going rogue.
Now you as a person, are you the terrible neighbor or are you the person that's complaining about your awful neighbors?
Great neighbor. I'm a great neighbor. I greet everyone. I'm not as abrasive as my outfits look and um
Well, today, right? But like, usually it's a lot of hoodies. Okay. What's the normal what's the normal get up?
Uh it's called rough childhood sheik. Okay. Just the normal.
Explain that a little for us. Are the beanie like what you're wearing?
Yeah. Yeah. Sneakers and all of that type of thing. You know, and you know, my new neighbors you know, they they were a bit concerned. You could see it in their eyes. A little concerned. Just like, you know, guy coming in. But all I do is play Michael Jackson and dance in my socks.
Very very nice. You just hit you just said the magic. The magic two words. MJ. I mean, can we moonwalk across the yard?
If I could. If I could, but it's Timbers and I don't know how that was a serious. I was really ready to be out in the field. I'm excited to be in this field. Yeah. There's a freedom in this interview that I haven't felt ever in my life. I feel free with you now.
Do you? Yeah, this field is so beautiful. It's so is that a pond? It is. Is there a pond in the background?
Yeah. We set that up just for today. You guys are killing it. It's a fake backdrop.
Young Hollywood's doing We're doing some good things. So, should we play a little bit? All right. You're going to teach me, though. Okay, I guess the object, I mean, I guess, you know, it's the object is to get it in the cup. You can bounce it. You can go side arm. You can go overhead. You can you if you can lean over far enough, you might even be able to dunk. Yeah. Overhand. I guess if you get it in the cup the other person has to drink what's in the cup. Oh, all right. Okay. You going first? All right. Yeah. Go for it. Go for it. I'll be the guinea pig, okay? Oh! Oh, okay. Chugging. You know, it's like my OCD like where's this ball? I'm going to. Yeah. You got you got to remove the ball first. Oh, well then. Oh, are you feeling it? I'm learning. Oh, I'm feeling it now. I'm feeling it now. There's L. It's ginger ale. You young Hollywooders out there. You guys are so professional. Did I hear you like a little Golden Girls by the way?
I love the Golden Girls.
Who's your favorite?
Are you kidding me? Bea Arthur is one of the greatest.
Bea Arthur is your girl.
Comedic actresses of all time. I'm in love genuinely in love.
Can you do a Bea Arthur impression?
No. No, but I I did learn timing from her.
Tell me.
Like her comedic timing is impeccable. And uh and and I learned uh I learned how to uh, you know, pace things out from watching. Yeah. Yeah. She's great.
So like let's say like I said a joke, like how many how do you give it a beat? Do you like what do you do?
Well, yeah, just to let it, you know, just really just be truthful and natural and let it, you know, let something breathe a little bit.
How was your audition for this movie?
It was fun. It was fun. Nick was in the room.
Who's in the room?
Uh, Seth wasn't there, but Nick was in the room. And it was cool. It was we just riffed, you know, just some.
You're a stand up. Yeah. You're a standup comedian. A standup comedian. So uh, I'm going to throw yours back at you. Oh, wow. You're really not good at this game.
I'm horrible at this game. I'm horrible at it. Um, so it was fun. Um, it was really fun. It was like I mean
Were you nervous?
Uh, no, cuz I hate auditions.
I knew that. That's why I asked you that question. If we're being truthful, it was
I know, right? Oh man, this ginger ale is going straight to my head. It's uh, uh, it was the first audition that I didn't walk out of in a in a while. I usually go. I'll go to an audition and I just I hate it so much that I just mark my name off the list and leave.
No way.
Yeah. Yeah. And but I but I say like a good one like a good one. What happens? You go you go and you don't leave and it's your first movie. You need to keep keep going. Just stay. Or that. It's working out for you. Maybe. Maybe but then, you know, the numbers could get off. But I but I say cuz it was this seemed like genuinely fun. It seemed like a great thing. So.
I mean, it's a great cast. It's a great cast. Yeah. It's a great cast. Yeah. When you guys are all together is it kind of what's the situation? Is especially with such a fun movie. Is it a party atmosphere? Is it kind of like like the film?
Um yeah, you know, it's uh it I think one of the biggest things that it connects with is that we actually had fun together. You know, like on set we actually like each other. Yeah. Yeah. Those guys. Those guys.
Are you all tight now?
Uh, yeah, we're pretty close. Yeah.
Who are you closest with?
Oh, wow. It's a great question. I don't know.
You mean the other ones weren't great?
What do you say? The other ones were excellent. This one stomped me. Uh, I mean all seriously, those guy I I talk to all of them a bunch and you know, we still
You guys talk to each other. Still at the Subway Square. We just had a
The very loud Subway Square. I heard the screaming from over here.
Really? Yes. That it was insane. It was insane. It was a it was a Q and A technically. So tell me, how does it feel to have all those women screaming?
Uh, screaming across me at Zach is great. It's like a selfie like you ran out and selfie together. Yeah. Yeah. It was it was fun. It was a lot of energy. It's it's it's a it was fun interesting energy. I don't know if we accomplished anything.
What were you supposed to accomplish? I mean, you made girls scream. I think you did it.
Yeah, and we ate sandwiches. Girls screamed and we ate sandwiches. So it was like my goal on a Saturday night anyway.
You had the You're horrible. I'm I'm going to stop cuz I'm embarrassing myself. And you. Like we're going out. We're. Boom. Young Hollywood. I like this. I was really got into it and broke this thing. Thank you for coming. Thank you very much. Nice to see you.
