I'm Oliver Trivina here with Young Hollywood.
Hollywood Records with the amazing Lucy Hale.
Amazing.
Yeah, you're all amazing.
You there's no end to your talent.
I love it.
Thank you so much.
Just when I thought I'd seen it all.
Here you are.
Wait till you see me juggle.
This is it.
Is it juggling?
I heard that rumor.
I I kind of peak at music, so.
Peak at music.
You are peaking, you are peaking.
Actually, you're peaking at number two on the iTunes chart, number two on the country chart.
Pretty crazy.
I heard it's going to push Miranda Lambert out by the end of the day.
Wow.
I mean, that would be aiming very big.
Let's do it.
Everyone, just let's push Miranda to one side.
Make way for Lucy.
But it is I will say, it's very cool.
She's like one of my idols, so it's very cool to be associated anywhere near.
You're very close.
So.
One and two, yes.
I'll gladly take.
You'll take that.
Slide two under the queen.
Yes.
This is it.
Road Between.
Road Between.
There it is.
Very personal songs, aren't they?
Mhm.
Personal lyrics.
Yeah.
Has that been a big process for you, obviously, writing this album?
Um.
Well, it took about a little over two years to make the album.
And so that's quite a bit.
Yeah.
And so, you know, I always said when I want when I release music, I wanted it to feel right.
I wanted to be in the right place.
I wanted to actually have like a perspective and a point of view and not just be singing songs.
I wanted them to be songs that made a statement and could reach people.
Co-wrote a few songs and um but even if I didn't write them, I just it had to been something that like I really felt in my bones.
And so, I think that it's a really good representation of me and um something, you know, I've said that out of anything I've ever done.
Um it's the thing I'm most proud of and the thing I'm most excited about.
So.
You sound good to me.
God, I love you.
Very good pun.
Yes.
I love what you did there.
That's a that's a segue.
Cuz our first single you sound good to me.
Very catchy, isn't it?
Very good.
I was listening to it earlier and then I was like.
I was listening to it earlier and then I was like.
Yes, I love what you did there.
I know.
Yes.
Just walking around the street.
Yeah, I love it.
Bobbing your head.
But you're in the right place.
Hollywood Records are known for cuz obviously you're acting background as well.
And known for, you know, they're great with actors, musicians, multi-talented people.
Yeah.
I mean, I think they're just a great label in general, no matter who it is, but I think that the reason I decided to go with them is that they totally believed in me when nobody else did.
Right.
There's this girl that's on a, you know, a commercially popular show saying, I want to make a country album.
And, you know, a lot of people were like scoffed and, you know, were like, okay, good luck, girl.
But they totally believed in me and they knew that this is my biggest passion and, um, you know, cuz for me, I've always been a musician who acted, not an actor who sang.
Right.
You're a music first.
That's why you came to LA, right?
Yeah.
And so, um, you know, this label is just so amazing and it's just wonderful people and they gave me like full creative control, which almost never happens and um, and that's why it was kind of a good.
What age did you start singing?
Um, I mean, I've sang as for it's been my hobby for as long as I can remember, but I mean, I started taking voice lessons when I was like eight, sort of like singing around Memphis where I grew up shortly after that, and then I did American Juniors and then, uh, after that, it was kind of like a move to LA to pursue music.
It's very difficult business, especially when you're 15 and I don't know what you want to do.
Um, and then did a lot of acting projects that involved music and then finally that that huge door opened where they're like, You never forget about your passion.
You never forget it.
Never forget.
Yeah.
Never forget.
Um, and now obviously the record's made, you're probably going to end up touring or touring.
Um, is there anyone that you'd love to share the stage with, open up for, go on tour with?
Oh God.
I mean, we've already talked about my love of Miranda Lambert.
That would be cool.
But I think like Rascal Flatts were kind of the band that really made me just fall head over heels in love with country music.
Uh, I love Lady Antebellum.
They're really.
I mean, I think that what's so good about country music and that genre is that everyone is just so good.
Right.
And they're so good live and they're really genuine people.
So, I think that anyone I would just be thrilled and flattered to be, you know, thrown into that.
That would be great.
Lucy Hale, she's so lovely.
Just get this record.
Yeah.
Road Between and play it everywhere.
Even on your hikes, be really obnoxious and just blast it out.
Everyone.
Let's do it.
Talented.
Thank you.
That's nice.
Let's try.
