Kate Earl's "Melody"

No matter what has ever come to me. Hey everyone. It's Kate Earl. You're on the set of my music video Melody. Well, here we are. Uh this is my humble abode. This is an authentic TP. As you can see, I I drink lot's of tea and I play chess. I cook my little meals over this fire. And I do some origami apparently to go with my kimono. Okay, we're going in together for the first time. So this is where I live. I sleep here and a lot of what's here is actually my real belongings. That's really my pillows and really my headboard and but anyway, I just wanted to give you a tour and thank you for coming along.

Hey, Young Hollywood. It's Michelle Romero and I'm here with Kate Earl. Now, the bus was kind of a premise that you guys have been shooting on and off like back and forth. Can you tell us a little about why we're here on the bus?

Well, the concept uh for the bus is that I hitchhike uh to do my job in town. And I got lucky enough to be picked up on this day by a band of girls. And they're in this hippie bus and they're just you know free love and free spirited and a lot like me and I I just happen to stumble into this beautiful community.

So cool. And this bus is amazing.

Yeah. This uh it's a a vintage bus. I found it in Venice. I I drove around Venice looking for a bus.

Really? And you found it on your own?

Yeah, I was driving around for four hours. I was like Pac-Man. Who's going down every Yeah, every road until I found it.

So what's the storyline progression? Like where do you start and where do you end up?

Yes, we begin with me in my TP in the morning. I have breakfast. I get dressed. I go to work.

And then where do you work?

I work on on uh in Venice. I'm singing on a street corner. So that day I have enough money saved to buy a guitar. And that's the high point in the whole video is that this dreamy thing that I worked for I get to have and I continue to create my my music.

So That is a really great story. So you get the guitar, you meet the girls. And then so what can we kind of anticipate like is it gonna be kind of a a different ending?

I want to address one thing because I'm walking around naked in this video. So you have to watch the whole thing to figure out why I'm doing that because there's a reason for it.

Interesting. And how was that shooting that scene for you?

I just felt like I was claiming my skin and I was being absolutely woman.

Now, what you're wearing is absolutely beautiful. How did you pick out what you were going to wear for the video?

One of uh my directors' roommates is a seamstress for the LA Opera. And I had this vision in my mind and I brought the design to her and she embellished on it.
