So, I heard you wrote a lot of your songs from uh Nine Track Mind in many, many different locations. Was maybe was this one of the spots? You wrote the you were doing the song?

We don't have the same bus as we did on Jingle Ball, but I did edit vocals in one of these bunks and uh write a couple tunes. So, um I think part of losing my mind was finished on a bus. I like writing in different places. It's fun.

That's that's awesome. Is it something constantly you're doing all night? How when when's the editing process like?

Well, if I bring you back here, Oh, no, look at this. These are the uh compressors. This is like uh um uh the compression cocktail of stuff I put on my vocals. This is the microphone right here. And uh

What kind of microphone is it?

It's a blue uh kiwi. It's I use it on everything. I use it on uh I I used it when I recorded Marvin Gaye, See You Again. Um every the whole album is that microphone. And this eyeball right here. So, we we're on a bus, so there's a lot of you know, you know, sounds. So, you put this on the microphone and it kind of deadens the sound a little bit. So, I have a little studio here. I can hook it up to this TV and

This is so this is awesome.

Okay, so there's a there's a there is a line in um in one call away. And I really like it. And it's Superman's got nothing on me. That's the main line. Superman's got nothing on me So, does that are you like are you like you're really reliable or when your friends need you?

It's a bit of an exaggeration. I I can't say that I'm like um 100% Superman at all the times. I can't fly. However, um I basically wrote that song for obviously for a girl, but kind of like half and half, like one of those half and half cookies, like for my parents too, because um they miss me all the time and if uh I tell them that I'm only one call away, it makes them feel better.

You're a good guy. Last time we were talking about like your fame and you you were just starting out. And I feel like now it's like it's fame is

It's gotten a bit I I'm getting used to it now. Last time I talked to you, I was having fun now. Yeah. I love meeting fans. I love that there's people waiting outside to get into the theater right now. Um, it actually I I've learned to take uh what used to be nervous energy, um, uh of like meeting people and being surrounded by a lot of people and turning it into creative energy. So, um going on stage, I'll get off stage tonight, have my one drink and uh go uh here and make a uh make a new record for uh capturing all that energy that I experienced out there.

What's like something a fan has done in the audience that's gotten your attention?

There was a sign there I love when my fans make signs because they get so creative. They they put lights on it. And uh they you know, they draw my face, they make the some one sign was just a giant eyebrow one time. That was cool, but there was this one particular sign um which I thought was pretty creative. It said Dome on it and it was like uh it was in black marker and I was like, "Dome." I was like, trying to concentrate I'm playing, but I was looking over like, "Dome, what is that?" I mean, it was like they didn't space it out enough. It was really doomy. But, you know, you get signs like that sometimes. I I like all the types of signs that my fans make me.

Okay, let's play a word association game. And this is basically word association off of uh the titles of the songs in the album. And the first song is One Call Away. One Call Away. And the word association word association one will be, do you prefer girls to text you or call you?

I prefer them to call me. I'm a bit of an old-fashioned person. It's so the human conversation's like a dying art form. It's so nice when they uh I'll I'll always call them right away, but because what's the point of so much texting? Oh because I'm Superman. obviously.

Okay. Is there something that you've done dangerously lately?

I'm a pretty prudent pooth. I'm a I don't know. I I think uh I was debating going hang gliding one time, but I didn't do it. I ended up going to TGI Fridays instead.

That's dangerous too though.

It's dangerous. Sometime you know, sometimes it's dangerous. So, there's something dangerous.

We Don't Talk Anymore. Right. Great. Everybody knows that song.

Yeah, you're kind of singing it though. We don't talk anymore. Wish I could beatbox like you beatbox.

What's a dating deal breaker where you'd say, you know, "Okay, we don't talk anymore."

I would think if if a girl's like narcissistic and only talked about herself the entire time, that then I would be like, "Okay, we're probably not going to talk anymore after this."

Mine's always if like a girl is like friends with my friends. She has to be friends with my friends. That's a big thing. I just found out that that's a big thing for me too. He's trying to get you. Just a little love advice for you.

Okay. Up All Night. What is it that keeps you up all night? Is it the editing? Is it the music? Is it the fans? What are the things that what what's the things that are keeping you up all night?

It's the music. I will um skip meals sometimes because I just want to I'll I'll spend two hours making a snare sound really good. Like I'm producing it all on this laptop here. That's where the album was made. Um so, I'll spend so much time on like the drums or and then I'll be like, "Well, it's probably, you know, 6:30 in the morning. I should probably go to bed." Um, fans keep me up too. Not in that way. Not all the time. Just kidding. I don't know what I'm saying.

I saw you have a have like a bunch of members in the band. And are these any any guys that you like brought back from Berkeley or anybody you're like, "Dude, Charlie. We got to do next Charlie album." whatever.

Yeah. I mean, I I these guys are fantastic and are just I when I first had to put together a band when we were going overseas doing all this promo stuff, I just clicked with these guys so easily. So, um we really we we were rocking it. We were loving it.
