Young Hollywood

Welcome to Younghollywood. com. So we've got the beautiful Robin. Tell us why you're here tonight.

Robyn

Uh, I'm here at the the Cherry Tree Records party to celebrate the opening of the All Hearts tour, which is a tour that I'm doing together with Khalif and Forest Movement and Dan Black. And uh we're gonna be on tour for the next couple of weeks.

Young Hollywood

How did you get involved with all of this?

Robyn

Well, the tour was something that me and Khalif started talking about and we both, I guess, thought it was a good idea. I think our audiences go together really well. I think we both have the same ambition to make pop music that is maybe not always so expected.

Young Hollywood

Tell us about the set. What songs will you be performing? Are they gonna be on your new album? Give us the scoop.

Robyn

I'm doing all of the songs from the new album Body Talk Part 1. It's released in three parts and it's something I'm I'm doing because I want to figure out a way where I can record and tour at the same time. So the set is going to keep changing over the year. I've been releasing records for about 15 years and I just thought, you know, this is my fifth album. I've done this before. Let me switch it up a little bit and try something new. But the single that's out now from the first part, it's called Dancing On My Own. I keep dancing on my own. I keep dancing on my own. I'm just going to dance all night.

Young Hollywood

You're going to get to hear that tonight?

Robyn

Of course. I'm going to play that and I'm going to play old songs as well. I still do Show Me Love live and I love Show Me Love. Thank you. Love it. Thank you very much. Yes, I have a band and you know, it's all live and two drummers, two keyboard players and me. We just want people to dance. It's an album that's inspired by club culture and club music.

Young Hollywood

So let's talk about your Show Me Love days as opposed to right now. How would you say that your music has evolved in the past couple of years and changed?

Robyn

It's still pop music. It's not very complicated. But I guess I've always tried to do, you know, do something that feels personal, honest and real. And I think since I started my own record company in 2005, I was able to really kind of go deeper into that and really figure myself out with my music. But you know, it's it's still pop music and it's still geared around the songs and, you know, that's kind of what I'm obsessed about. But as you get older, of course, you you figure yourself out and you I guess come a little bit closer to what it is that you're trying to put your finger on. Or what I'm trying to put my finger on with my music.

Young Hollywood

Any cool collaborations on part one?

Robyn

Uh, on part one I've worked with um a lot of the Swedish people I usually work with, but then also um Royksopp and Diplo. And I'm working with Clearup again on the next album Body Talk Part 2 and Snoop Dog.

Young Hollywood

Ooh, that should be a fun track.

Robyn

Yeah. It's going to be it's going to be a good series of albums.

Young Hollywood

Do you ever work with Khalise?

Robyn

I haven't worked with Khalise, but we've been talking about it now that we've gotten to know each other a little bit. I think we both have, you know, ideas that we'll be able to explore. What's up? I'm Robin. Thank you so much for hanging out, Young Hollywood.
