With X Ambassador backstage at the Forum at K-Rock Almost Acoustic Christmas.
That's right. That's right.
Pretty electric. Pretty electric. Oh, it's all good, but
Yeah, almost. Like what? Almost acoustic.
There's an acoustic guitar. We had one acoustic guitar.
You do. When you bring out that acoustic, the whole energy, it just drops right to you. Sam, you just moved to
I did. Yeah. I just moved to LA, man. I'm
What do you guys think about the guy moving to LA?
They all hate me now. Yeah, we hate him.
Casey?
Yeah. You bringing LA to me. It's cool. I mean, we're brothers. We hated each other a long time ago.
Right, that's right. So back to you were, uh, I saw you working on your your vocals. At a post working on your vocals. So this was after he performs, he does something with his vocals. What what went on?
I was, uh, using a steamer. It's a, uh, personal steam inhaler that, uh, they like to call a a ball steamer. They always threaten to steam their balls in my face.
No, they do not.
They do.
That's what they never did.
Yeah, they've never done it. Uh, but I need I need I need the steam for my vocal cords to calm calm my voice down.
I feel like you're a a spiritual person, cuz I also last time I ran into you, you were had a full yoga mat out.
That's right. Yeah, yeah. I I I do I do I try to get in the zone before and after I play.
Boss of the wall. Did it say it in the microphone? Don't
I don't know. He doesn't have to say anything to me.
Please, please, please. Coming in coming into the into the new year, going into the new year here. Do you guys have any, uh, bad habits that you'd like to get rid of, any any resolution?
Uh-oh, so many bad habits.
Yeah. We don't know where to begin.
Yeah, we don't know where to begin.
Now, if Interscope came to you guys and were like, you know, we need to put together our, uh, our Christmas EP for for the next year, for 2016.
We would tell them that we're all Jewish.
The Hanukkah the Hanukkah.
The Hanukkah EP.
Are you guys doing a little bit of writing before the 2016?
Yeah, we're we're working on some new stuff. We we're always writing.
Yeah. I don't feel like you guys like try to write the bangers and the hits like a lot of. I mean, people on radio they really try to focus. I feel like it just naturally comes out. Jungle was just epic song. I mean, everybody here can confirm it that it's epic. It's right? Jungle?
Oh yeah. I just I just I just woke up one morning and just like wrote it.
No, you did not.
I did not. I work I work on writing the the the lyrical content and and the melody, like very hard. Right. So I I there's a lot of work that goes into every single one of our songs. Musically and lyrically and and everything. We all bust our ass. So nothing comes easy, my friend.
That's awesome, guys. X Ambassador's here at K-Rock. Thanks, guys. Tony Morris here on Young Hollywood here at K-Rock Almost Acoustic Christmas with The Struts. We're talking about New Year's resolutions. What kind of resolutions are you guys trying to enter into? What what kind of resolution are you looking for, Gethin?
Tell you what, I could use a proper pedicure every week.
You're Gethin, that's your name?
Yeah.
What an awesome name.
Thank you. It means dark and swarthy in Welsh.
Speaking of dark and swarthy, my feet for New Year's, right?
Pedicure every week. That's that's my mission. Imagine Imagine that. Look at my feet. Man, you've I guess I said you have pretty feet.
Three weeks. Thank you. He's not just a pretty face. He is a pretty pair of feet.
There's not much hair on it even. Look at him, look at him.
And I'm licking him. I'm not licking him.
And I'm licking him.
That's one thing you can't get. Come on.
Hey you also
I'm licking his feet, everybody. That's going viral.
Tell me about tell me what Could Have Been Me, what it's about. What what what is the song about?
Could Have Been Me is about, you know, the band we came to a fork in the road in our career. And, you know, we were either just going to have to rethink everything or we were just going to push on as a group. And we thought, you know what, let's carry on. Let's stay true to ourselves and not give up on, uh, on what we feel is the right thing to do. And and lyrically that's what the song's about.
I have a really weird taste in my mouth right now from licking his feet. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. Mad Libs. You guys know what Mad Libs are? A Mad Lib is where I'm gonna I'm gonna sing a Christmas song and you guys are gonna fill it in, fill the word in with anything you want. You don't have to use the word that I really want you to do this. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer had a very shiny.
Nose.
He went to the doctor and tried to sort it out and it turns out he had a cold. We have it's Mad Lib is you just fill it in with one word. I know it's failing. No, you just fill it with one word. I'll do all the work. You guys just fill it in with all. But that was good though. That was good. That sounds like a hit. That was a hit song. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it.
What? I don't know that one. Do you give me another one?
It's you can say you can you can put it in with any word you want. All right, all right. It's a Mad Lib. You make it up. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it.
Glowed.
Man. He's using the same ones that it's in the song. You got you could go on you could go on. That's my genius. Just like, you know. We're gonna skip that game. I didn't know that. We're gonna definitely cut that out of out of me. That That'll be cut out of the interview. I was brought up in a religious household. You know, Rudolph, like, he represents everything satanic. Horns, red nose, you know, whipped by a man dressed in red. How how more satanic can you get? What are you guys where are you guys gonna be for the holidays? You guys for Christmas?
LA.
You're gonna be here in LA?
Yeah.
You're gonna you're gonna be here in LA? Or you
We we we well, we're kind of Well, basically, we're very busy and no fixed address. No fixed address. No fixed address. And anywhere. Cuz we have the honor of supporting Mötley Crüe at their last four ever dates. Three nights. Three nights at the Staples Center. But this is around Christmas. So we we had flights booked home. We were gonna go home and spend Christmas with our families. And now we have those dates, which is obviously a huge honor. We're gonna stay in LA and have our Christmas together, aren't we, boys? So we're gonna be supporting them.
Yeah. That is awesome. For their last four ever dates. That's really cool. So there you go, Young Hollywood. The Struts. Thank you.
Thank you very much, me. We had a lot of fun. Yeah, yeah.
