Young Hollywood

Welcome to Younghollywood. com. What's up guys? It's Michelle Marie with Young Hollywood. We are here in the studio with Get Busy Committee with Ryu, Scoop Deville, and of course, Apathy. How are you guys doing today?

GBC

Doing great, sitting here working on some new music, you know.

Young Hollywood

So what are we working on today? Can you talk about it?

GBC

Uh, we're working on a couple of things. We're working on the new Get Busy Committee album. Scoops working on some beats right now.

Young Hollywood

You worked with Snoop Dog on his new album and, you know, a lot of his tracks and you're kind of in high demand right now, you're a busy guy. How's How's it been for you so far?

GBC

Um, it's been good. Uh, just like in these past couple months, every day it's been like a, it's been like a movie. I mean, I've been working with so many different legends and different people jumping on the records that are already out and, you know, getting to work with Buster Rhymes and Fat Joe. It's great, man.

Young Hollywood

So, you guys released "I Don't Care About You" on Valentine's Day. That's that's really mean to all those single people out there.

GBC

Sure. It's anti-dedication. It's a, it's a big F U kinda, a little bit. To those who deserve it. Right. But it's a platinum single. Should I be paranoid out to watch my back because of psycho like you don't know how to act because I I don't care about you no more. And I I don't care about you no more 'cause I'm free.

Young Hollywood

The video is just insane. It's like, uh, being on acid but like in a bad way, like in a, like the next day, maybe I I've never done acid, so.

GBC

It's like bad tripping at the Jersey Shore. Oh no. You know. It's like dancing crack pipes, skeletons, There's a lot of fist pumping. It was directed by a a a good friend of ours, Matt Lynsky. We went out to Brooklyn and did it.

Young Hollywood

Now let's talk about "Uzi Does It." That's like the that's the album you guys have out right now. What can you tell the audience about, you know, what the sound is like and what can expect?

GBC

Uzi Does It is a big cluster of whatever we wanted to do at the time. Our influences came from all over the place. We did everything from old school, 90s R&B, to a lot of the old dub and and reggae era and all the classic stuff like that. So, it was really nuts. Like we just wanted to have fun with it and do whatever we wanted to do.

Young Hollywood

I know that you guys have an an Uzi that you made. Yeah. And it's a USB. Can you tell us a little bit about this?

GBC

Um, yeah, it's a two-gig USB and, um, it pretty much, you know what I'm saying, can assist the album and you can put your own stuff on it, so it's cool, man. A lot of people are tripping on it. It's like a, you know, a cool little gadget. We keep repressing 'em, you know, we can't make 'em fast enough. They're they're flying. You know what? There was high demand for it. There was people from like weird, what was it like hunting and fishing stores that wanted to to buy our Uzi and stuff just because it was in the shape of a gun. So it was crazy. It was crazy everybody wanted it.

Young Hollywood

So this is your your version of Easy Does It. Uzi Does It. I know you guys are really influenced by Eazy E and a lot of other old school people. Who would you say are your greatest influences with your music?

GBC

Eazy E, BBD, BDP, You know, everybody in between there, that kinda wraps it up, you know.

Young Hollywood

You got three letters in your group. You got group name. We're influenced by you for sure.

GBC

Yeah. So that's why we came up with GBC. Because all the all the great groups only have three letters in their group.

Young Hollywood

Tell me what you guys are like on stage. If you were to describe to say if you're as a I don't know. Can we curse?

GBC

Fucking fantastic. That's what we're like on stage. A little bit. I mean, I don't know what to say other than that. We got crazy chemistry as a group. And the way we do things, we've been doing stuff for so long. Right. That, uh, it's just a natural thing. And then when we mix in our visuals and all that, what we do, it's crazy.

Young Hollywood

You guys have a really big underground following.

GBC

That's where our our base is. That's that's why we exist because, you know, we have such a personal relationship with our fans that if we need to borrow a piece of equipment while we're recording, we'll put a tweet out and and they'll be like, yeah, yeah, come pick it up. We'll go pick it up. We need it, you know. Make us sandwiches and stuff, like, you know. That's our lifeline right there. Get Busy Committee, Apathy, Ryu, Scoop Deville. Yo, shout out to Young Hollywood. Yo, you know what? That kinda sound like a a rapper's name, man. You already know what it is. It's Young Hollywood. You heard it. That's that's probably I think y'all gotta get out of here, man. I think you guys are trying to peep what we doing, man. I think it's time for you guys to leave, man. Young Hollywood trying to scheme on our steal our beats and everything. You guys gotta get the out of here to be honest.
