Blow that horn!

Young Hollywood

Okay. I'm gonna brace myself here, he's put a foot in my hands, ready? What am I holding?

Evan Dollard

Climb, climb, climb. Climb, climb, climb.

Young Hollywood

Are we there? Alright. What's up, guys? Jackie Cursh here at Tempest Academy. Now if you've ever done a killer workout, this is gonna put you to shame. Evan Dollard, who's one of the hosts of Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge, is gonna show us how to train like a warrior. So Evan Dollard, you're one of the hosts of Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge. But you're a ninja, you're a warrior, you're a gladiator. I'm like actually afraid of you. you're intimidating right now.

Evan Dollard

I'm, I'm just very. I'm, yes, I'm very intimidating.

Young Hollywood

Seriously, what's with all those titles?

Evan Dollard

I don't know, it's a pretty ridiculous resume. It all started with American Gladiators, 'cause I watched the original show as a kid. And so when I found out they were bringing it back for a reboot, I had to go for it. And then I got, yes, on the show and I won. And then that led into five seasons of American Ninja Warrior.

Young Hollywood

You're next. I'm, I'm not. So let's talk Spartan because you're not competing in this one. You're on the sidelines. What's that like?

Evan Dollard

Oh, it's so much fun. I've done five seasons of American Ninja Warrior, did Team Ninja Warrior. I've competed in China and Japan and it's been a a wild ride. And I've had my fun and now I'm ready to encourage other people and do the commentating on the sidelines. So to see that passion and enthusiasm from these athletes, it's fun for me because I know what it's like to be on the other side of it.

Young Hollywood

No one has to know. Here we go. Ready? Oh! The bar is skewed. Get it. Ah! One more time. Woo! We need a team name. The Blonde Bombshells.

Evan Dollard

Blonde Bombshells. I like it. Okay. One, two, three, up. Oh my! There we go. Let's go team. Oh no! You're so good, though. So good.

Young Hollywood

A lot of people want to train like you train. But obviously people don't have as much time. What can you do to kind of maybe target an area? Can you do it in seven minutes or do you really have to spend an hour?

Evan Dollard

So fitness has been a part of my life from the very, very beginning. And I I'm incredibly grateful to my father for that. I know my body, I know what it takes in order to keep my ideal body composition up. And for me that's high intensity interval training. So I'll jump up on the pull-up bar and I'll do pull-ups until failure, dips until failure, push-ups until failure, maybe some lower body stuff like some air squats. Really just a full body workout. Five to seven exercises in a row, take a break and then I'll hit it again and do three, four circuits of that. So that can take me 30 minutes. And you can do whatever you can. Like if you want to do one circuit in the morning and then you do one at lunch and then one in the evening. It really is up to you and your lifestyle, but you gotta start doing something.

Young Hollywood

We're doing an army crawl into the balance, into the slip wall. You ready? Okay. To do this.

Evan Dollard

Another thing that's really important to the gym these days is squad goals. You need to have a squad, a gym squad. Yes. Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge is a great example of squad goals because every obstacle in that show is designed for you to complete with your squad. The key is gonna be communication when we get to the slip wall. We gotta get us both to the top. Okay. Alright. And it doesn't matter how good of an individual athlete you are, it's how strong are you together.

Young Hollywood

Blow that horn. Okay. I'm gonna brace myself here, he's put a foot in my hands, ready? What am I holding? Climb, climb, climb. Are we there? No! We need more team members. Calling all blondes. We need you now. Join the fight. Fitness for you has, like you said, been a way of life, but let's say someone's sitting on their couch right now and doesn't know where to start. What would you advise them?

Evan Dollard

Clean out the cupboard. Let's start there. Because yes, being active is important. But the way you eat is equally as important. So minimize the amount of complex carbohydrates that you have and the simple carbohydrates. Try to get rid of the tortilla chips and the sugar and the brownies and the ice cream because that's not doing you any favors. And from there, honestly, if you're just getting started, go for a walk. Stand up, go for a walk. Stand while you watch TV. Like there are simple things, but know that it's gonna be a progression. You know, it's gonna take some time.

Young Hollywood

You've been said to not want to date anyone who can't Who you can't beat in an arm wrestle.

Evan Dollard

And I stand by that.

Young Hollywood

Okay. So, I have to challenge you to a thumb wrestle. A thumb wrestle? A thumb wrestle. One, two, three, four, I declare thumb war, five, six, seven, eight. What's happening? I don't know the rest. Okay. Oh, shoot. Well, I'm I'm being dodgy right now is what I'm doing. No. Oh no! Yes, victory. Probably my only victory from you. Nice job. Nice. Look at you. You're natural.

Evan Dollard

Team on. Chest back. Drive the knees. Punch off that last one. There she goes. She's up. Oh my god! So close. Oh, I'm not kidding.

Young Hollywood

For Young Hollywood. Blonde Bombshells. Ow! I'm stuck. Send help.
