Maia & Alex Shibutani Battle In the Double Dare Challenge

Hey guys, I'm Maya.

And I'm Alex.

We're here with Young Hollywood at VidCon. And we're about to do the Double Dare obstacle course.

We're gonna go down, reach up and grab the flag. Yep, face first. Then we're gonna go down the hatch. Same thing, face first. You're gonna pop up and grab flag number two. And then you're gonna make your way over here to the Icy Trough.

This is gonna be harder for me cause I'm bigger. Oh, man.

Okay. And then we're over to Picket. Reach up in there, the flag is hidden in one of the nostrils.

Okay, we don't know which one.

You don't know which one. I can tell you but that'd be cheating.

Is there something else in the other nostril? That would be gross.

Maybe. Any advice?

Thank you. Here we got to make your way to the Double Dare obstacle course. How does it feel? Are you nervous?

Yes, I'm nervous. More nervous than the Olympics. No.

Oh my goodness. On your mark. Get set. Go. Come on, get that flag. Rip it down. Now we make our way down to the hatch. Over here by the flag number two. You got it. Now we're over this way. See how she's doing all that ice that she just picked it up. All right, here we are. On your back. Reach up and see if you can find where the flag is. Oh my goodness, he's looking for that flag. Are you sure? I told you. Come on. One, two, Thank you. Alex, you saw your sister make it through the obstacle course in 40 something seconds. Do you think you can do better?

I'm gonna do my best.

That's all we can ask for. That's all, that's all I want really.

That's all you want, really. I'll tell you what, she got tired of the Icy Trough. This is more of a Maya-sized obstacle course, if we're being honest. It's not looking good but like I said, I'll do my best.

There we have it. Follow me over this way. It's moving. It's moving. Oh, yeah. What is this? I could probably do way better. There she goes. It's almost there. Grab the flag. You just got over here onto Picket. Reach up under there. There's a flag in there. Look for it. Look for it. Look for it. He's got the flag. Yeah. Alex, you did a little bit better. I was gonna congratulate you until that extra celebration. Double Dare, here at VidCon. Good job.

Awesome. That was super fun. Congrats, Alex. You did a great job but you only won because you saw me go through the course first.

That's it's very true. I mean, that is a little bit of a diss by you but I definitely I did say congratulations first. That's true, that's true. I definitely was able to observe and study the course and kinda see what Maya did and just

But then again, you're so tall that that was probably really hard for you. It was really the reach. It's my wingspan that got the job done today. It's in the name but super slippery. Very slippery. Um no skates, no blades, and so

Also, I haven't been on a tricycle in a long time.

Yeah, the bike was a little small. Picking the nose was definitely not the easiest part. I would say that the easiest part was running between each pulling the flags off. That was like nice positive reinforcement, like I'm doing it. And then of course, being done. That was like, yes. That was the best part. Just like skating.
