How much fun do you have in your solo beating up on your little brother?
It's easy for me because I have an older brother in real life, so now I actually get to like change what's happened to my entire 26 years of life.
What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here. Young Hollywood is back at the Pantages Theater with that kooky family you know so well from the cartoon, the TV show, the film, and the Broadway musical. Yeah, it's the national tour of The Addams Family.
Hi, Courtney Wolfson with the Addams Family. I think Wednesday Addams, here with Young Hollywood. We're on tour with The Addams Family.
Okay, Courtney, you play Wednesday Addams, the Goth girl. But in this show, you're all grown up. You're in love.
Yes, I'm all grown up. Most people know the TV show. She's roughly 10 years old. Now I'm 18 to 20. And I'm in love with the normal guy from Ohio. I don't have a sunny disposition. I'm not known for being too amused. My demeanor's locked in one position. See my face, I'm enthused.
How much fun do you have in your solo beating up on your little brother?
It's easy for me because I have an older brother in real life, so now I actually get to like change what's happened to my entire 26 years of life. It's uh, it's a blast. He's a great kid. He's really talented. He's going to turn 13 in real life. So, we have a very brother-sister relationship backstage too, which really, really helps on stage. Going off in a new direction. With the feeling I know is impossible. So I'll confide that I've tried, but I can't let it go. Night and day from the last time I saw you. Yeah, here I am, pale, no longer looking like I live in Southern California. It's good. This is Wednesday. She's ready to go. Two and a half hours of Wednesday. And I have to stop smiling now because she doesn't get to smile that much.
Tell me about those moments as an actor when you're not getting your moment and you're like, but I deserve it. Tell me what goes on through your head and in your heart.
It's good for you to be humble, I think. It's uh, and I my path has been up and down. I moved to New York. I booked a Broadway show right away and it was great. I was living the dream and then it closed. Uh, Lame is Broadway. And I was unemployed for seven months and then I got another job and then you're unemployed. But that's how it works and it's it's good because this business can make you crazy if you're not grounded. And I think that the hills and the up and down rather than just an exponential like taking off, it's it's good for all of us to to be in check and to be grateful every single day. If you're an Addams, you do what Addams do or die.
