Welcome to younghollywood. com. Hey, young Hollywood. It's Michelle Marie coming to you from New York City at Madison Square Garden for the opening of Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk. We're going to take you backstage and show you what it's like before the big show. I'm here with Darren Good, who plays Jamie, the lead character in Wintuk. Tell us a little bit more about your character and how he leads the show. It's about basically a young boy and he meets a young girl and he has a very young boy crush. How is this one different from the others? Wintuk's different in a way, it tells more of a story and it's more family-orientated, kid-orientated. So it's, it's a really fun show.

Putting all this together, the training has to be so intense. What kind of training and time do you put in this? Especially in the last two months, it's been, you know, 12, 13-hour days and, uh, yeah, training, staging, practicing makeup, uh, people getting their wigs tested, uh, you know, many, many different things. So why did you decide that you wanted to join Cirque du Soleil? What was the one thing that you loved about it that made you want to do it? Being a gymnast, you know, acrobat, you know, I get to perform flips and and competitions, you know. Cirque du Soleil gave the opportunity where you can can continue doing your acrobatics in a totally different way.

And now I feel like an artist rather than a sportsman. I'm going to take you around backstage, into the green room, meet some of the other cast, see some of the costumes. I am Wimpy in the show. I'm the clown character, funny boy and a little Wimpy. He's Wimpy, so he's there to make me look tough. Kind of. I think. He ends up hiding in a trash can quite a bit throughout the show. That's actually his normal face, you know. I don't know why. Bring out your clown face for real. I'm the rollerblader and also tumbler in the show. My character is called the Latin lover. That's right. You'll see why. This is Curly. And they're just repaire and making sure everything is perfect for the premiere.

See, this is how good this team is, you know. We have nothing to worry about with a strong team like this working with us. So here we are. This is the uh, the real backstage where we enter onto the stage. Stage right, actually. And we come out here to begin our performance. Ta-da! Step into the public.
