Young Hollywood

Hey everyone, I am here in the gorgeous Malibu, California with Menasuvari here at the Leah Sophia Clam Bake.

Mena Suvari

Now, this is one of my favorite, favorite events of the summer.

Mena Suvari

I love Leah Sophia, so it's just coming out here and being able to play with her jewelry.

Mena Suvari

The chain links, the art deco designs, things like that.

Mena Suvari

It's just fun.

Young Hollywood

One thing that I can say about you is you've always been a woman of style.

Young Hollywood

You've always had the eye on fashion.

Young Hollywood

What is your summer must-have right now?

Mena Suvari

I'm usually like a jeans and like white beater amazing bag, shoes kind of girl.

Mena Suvari

Yeah.

Mena Suvari

A little bit of a tough edge.

Mena Suvari

Um, lots of gold jewelry.

Mena Suvari

I mean, I tried to, you know, put my little sexy dress today, but I got this beautiful yellow bikini yesterday.

Mena Suvari

Anything yellow I'm really responding to.

Mena Suvari

Yellow, turquoise, corals, you know, oranges.

Mena Suvari

So just color, color, color.

Young Hollywood

What's your favorite piece that you got today?

Mena Suvari

Oh God.

Mena Suvari

I love this ring.

Young Hollywood

Amazing.

Mena Suvari

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Now, is it too big or is it like the right size?

Mena Suvari

It's never too big.

Mena Suvari

How about statements, I feel like.

Mena Suvari

Big chunky jewelry.

Mena Suvari

I'm very Greek that way.

Mena Suvari

I'm like my grandmother.

Young Hollywood

Are you?

Mena Suvari

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

What was it like when you grew up?

Young Hollywood

Were you always in front of the camera, were you like a shy person?

Young Hollywood

What were you really like in the very beginning?

Mena Suvari

Generally I was very outgoing.

Mena Suvari

I've never been shy or timid in front of the camera, but um I was a bit of a little performer.

Young Hollywood

When did you first know when you were younger that you wanted to be on camera and that you wanted to be an actress?

Mena Suvari

Well, I started modeling when I was about 11, 12 when I was living in South Carolina, and as a young girl it just sounded like something fun to do.

Young Hollywood

You've traveled all around the world, I mean with films and with all the acting that you've done.

Young Hollywood

Are there any places that really stand out with you with fashion?

Mena Suvari

I'm always in Italy.

Mena Suvari

I love it over there.

Mena Suvari

I mean, my God, I feel like I want to live there one day.

Mena Suvari

I feel like that's living in art.

Young Hollywood

You've definitely have a great career.

Young Hollywood

A lot of people, you know, recognize you, know who you are from all the roles that you've done.

Young Hollywood

Is there any one moment like throughout your career that is your most memorable?

Mena Suvari

I have a film that I worked on called The Garden of Eden.

Mena Suvari

It's based on a Hemingway novel, which we shot a year ago in Spain and it premiered in Rome last year and that movie I honestly poured my heart and soul into.

Mena Suvari

Yeah.

Mena Suvari

It would be nice if it if audiences could see it soon.

Mena Suvari

So, I've always been, you know, very passionate about the creative aspect of what I do.

Mena Suvari

And it's learning how to work hand in hand with the business side.

Mena Suvari

And I feel like, you know, especially what's going on now in the times challenging people to think in new ways.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, you say you're creative, so if you're if you weren't an actress, what do you think you'd be doing?

Mena Suvari

But creative and I'm also very scientific, so I probably yeah, I'd probably be in the medical field.

Mena Suvari

My my my come from medicine and parents and yeah.

Mena Suvari

So that could be the next the next goal.

Mena Suvari

I'm always interested in those gruesome things that people don't want to talk about.

Mena Suvari
