Hey guys, Nicki Novack here in the Young Hollywood Studio served fresh by Subway.
We're at Napi, we're in South Beach.
We're so excited to be in in Miami and we are here with Britney from B Dry.
She is the Director of Operations and of course, our own Tracy Bear.
Um, great to have you here.
Thanks for coming in.
So, tell us a little bit about B Dry and and what makes you different from other places sort of around the country.
We were the first blow dry bar here in South Beach.
Um, we do full makeup applications.
It's the biggest difference.
So, basically, when you come to South Beach, it's come to B Dry, get ready, and go out.
And I know smoky eye, I can kind of scare people.
So, you're going to show us how to do it in an easy way.
Foolproof?
Okay.
All right.
Typically, when people think of a smoky eye, they think of black and it can look a little too dramatic, a little bit too sexy, I guess, or like Pam Anderson, it's dated.
Um, we typically go with like kind of warm browns now and maybe emphasize like a small amount on the corner with black.
So, we're using a really big brush, and I'm just kind of pushing it in to the center.
And you can see this is very forgiving because it just fluffs out right at the crease.
So, this kind of a brush is something that everybody should have.
A really big fluffy brush.
People are intimidated by this brush, but because it's large, they think it's too big for the eye.
So, no matter what eye size you have, you can use that brush.
I like to use it because it diffuses the the pigment so easily.
What is the most popular look that people come in for?
This is the most popular look.
Everybody wants, this is the Miami look.
What celebrity do people come in and say they want to look like the most?
If they say like Kim Kardashian.
Everybody says Kim Kardashian.
So, I'm using a smaller brush to get into the crease.
And again, we're just going to start doing windshield wiper motions through the socket.
That's a good way to think about it.
I've never thought about it that way.
Okay.
And we're working with her bone structure.
So, uh it's fool proof.
How would you describe Miami look compared to other places?
It's definitely a lot sexier.
Miami girls like to play up everything, you know, as opposed to like in New York or other cities where we're kind of doing drama on just the eyes and kind of going neutral.
Girls in Miami like to like it all, you know, we go for both.
Instead of an eye or a lip, they want both.
The cheek and the hair and the dress.
Yes.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
It really is.
Wow, I can see already.
Like Tracy's eye color just pops.
Exactly.
Yeah.
So we've gone from this color to this.
Now we're going to go into that black.
Into the darker.
So you work your way into the darker.
Exactly.
Okay.
It's literally three colors.
You can choose any three colors you want.
Um, as long as you've got a mid-tone, something slightly darker.
And companies nowadays, they're selling already made palettes for you.
So, it's it's there's no guess work, you know.
But you can get a little creative and go and buy your own things and and play around with it.
I mean, that's all makeup is.
God forbid you don't like it, just start all over again.
That's true.
So, I'm going in with the same exact brush and we're just really literally doing it on this just outside part.
Okay.
We're not really going to bring it in too much.
Right.
But we're adding a little bit of depth to this area.
Okay.
So, does that sort of pull the eye outward?
Is that Yeah, it gives it kind of lifts it and gives it a cat eye look.
But that's basically it for the eye as far as as the shadow on that portion.
Yeah, that's gorgeous.
Wow.
It works.
Wow, Tracy, your eyes are popping.
Okay, so we're using good old fashioned Great Lash.
And what are your thoughts on fake lashes?
I'm putting some on.
I mean, they have so many different styles.
They have lighter pairs, they have individuals, they have strip lashes.
There's something for everyone, and even if you're blessed with a great set of lashes, they just add so much to it.
When it comes to the French braid, Yeah.
Um, kind of the messier it is, the more charming it is.
I think the big mistake that people make with hair in general, and especially when they're doing their own, is they over perfect it.
My number one advice when it comes to hair is just don't overthink it because the natural look to it, um that's what adds the charm to the hair.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, we're going to take two pretty even chunks here.
So, you're just bringing one outside towards the other outside, one outside towards the other outside.
And you just keep on pulling it.
Um, it's going to end up loose.
It's going to end up a little messy.
But that's the that's the key, not to perfect.
Okay.
She looks gorgeous.
Thank you.
It's kind of like the that sort of warm, soft, goldeny, beachy, goddess look.
Mhm.
She rocks it well.
How do you feel?
I feel like I'm ready to hit the town.
I'm ready to go party Miami style.
