All I can say after watching the trailer is no. Just... NO.
I’m one of those weird people that can watch paranormal investigative TV shows and be completely calm, yet when I sit down and watch a horror film, all sanity goes out the window. I contemplated watching the trailer because I haven’t seen the 1982 original. Oh, and apparently there’s some Poltergeist Curse where unusual deaths have occurred among the former cast… am I going to have a weird and paranormal-linked death now that I’ve watched the trailer?! Who knows… But I’ve conjured up (hee hee) a list of the top five scariest moments in the trailer -- you know, in case you don’t want to watch it yourself. You other brave souls can glimpse it between your fingers below:
1:34
The crazy little girl puts her hands to the staticky screen, and ghostly hands reach out to her! Uh, what. She can channel tons of energy -- not chill.
2:00
I HATE CLOWN DOLLS. HATE THEM. I WANTED TO CRY WHEN I SAW THIS. THEY AREN’T SUPPOSED TO MOVE.
2:13
I jumped at this part. What’s wrong with her face?!!!!! Why does she look like that! HELP.
2:20
“Something’s wrong mom…” and SWOOP. The girl is being dragged up the stairs like a ragdoll by some unseen force!!!
2:22
The trailer obvs wants to scare the crap out of you because they list a website, diedinhouse.com, where you can find out if someone died in your house or not. Go ahead and check it out if you don’t care much for sleeping.
Now some of you may be laughing after seeing what scared me the most, but I know I’ll probably have nightmares about that clown doll (shivers), so thanks a lot for your sympathy.
What are YOU thinking about the trailer? Do you dare see it in theatres this July?
