The 10 Most Show-stopping Looks at the 2019 Met Gala!
It’s that time of the year again. Everyone who is anyone knows that the first Monday in May is the biggest night in fashion. The Met Gala draws in a crowd of all the top names in fashion wearing something they believe fits the event’s theme. This year’s theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” While nobody really knows exactly what that means, it’s up to the designer to interpret the theme and create an outfit to reflect it. If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that the outfits need to be extravagant and different. Here are some of the most memorable looks from the 2019 Met Gala!
Lady Gaga
It would be blasphemous to not start the list off with Lady Gaga’s quadruple outfit transformation. Designed by Brandon Maxwell, these 4 designs absolutely scream Gaga. She easily set the standard for the rest of the night’s looks with this incredible entrance.
Harry Styles
There’s pretty much a universal agreement that Harry Styles looks good no matter what, and this year’s Met Gala look proved that to be true. Styles showed up in a black sheer Gucci outfit with painted nails and accessories galore. This man can’t disappoint.
Janelle Monae
Like I said, the Met Gala theme is always up to the person’s interpretation and Janelle Monae took that to the extreme. In a Christian Siriano-designed dress, Monae looked absolutely incredible from head to toe.
Cardi B
As a woman who is outrageous in every way possible, it is only fitting that Cardi B has the biggest dress of the night. She looks stunning and classy. This is “camp” without a doubt.
Katy Perry
Even if Katy Perry’s outfits aren’t always the most comfortable-looking (how does she sit down??), she is never short of being memorable. This outfit looks like something straight out of Beauty and the Beast.
Jared Leto
Jared Leto easily had one of the most memorable looks in Met Gala history when he carried his own head onto the carpet. I’m just wondering if he carried that around with him all night...
Kacey Musgraves
She did it again. Kacey Musgraves showed up to the Met looking like a life-sized Barbie doll, with a hair dryer in hand. If that wasn’t enough, she even arrived to the event in a hot pink convertible.
Billy Porter
If there’s one thing that is just as important as your outfit at the Met Gala, it’s your entrance. After being carried into the event on a litter like an Egyptian pharaoh, Billy Porter won the prize for this year’s best entrance.
Kendall & Kylie Jenner
The dynamic duo is back at it again with one of the most memorable looks of the night. Their Versace ensembles made a statement, and Kylie even took it to the next level with a wig to match.
Ezra Miller
I can’t be the only one who had to do a double-take to figure out which eyes were real. Everything about this outfit fits the “camp” theme and there’s not a doubt that this look will be talked about for years to come.
