SUNDAY MUSIC VIDS: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Nobody loves California more than the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Oh, a few West Coast rappers might give them a run for their money, but Anthony Kiedis and his crew cannot be outmatched in their Cali pride.

For over 30 years now, the L.A.-based alt-rock band has kept it funky, fresh, and unmistakably L.A. with their unique sound and aesthetic. Drawing from their experiences living in SoCal, the band’s entire catalogue could be looked at as a giant love letter to the City of Angels.

But even for those of use who couldn’t relate to that particular aspect (at least until we moved to L.A. ourselves), RHCP represent so many more universal ideas – even their smash-hit, “Under the Bridge”, was a meditation on loneliness in L.A. which  non-locals could certainly relate to as well. But more than that, RHCP are just plain fun. I mean, you kinda have to have a certain sense of humor when you perform live on stage wearing nothing but tube socks on your private parts, right?

Red Hot Chili Peppers are a feast for the senses – rockin’ tunes and mesmerizing music videos! So let’s dedicate today to these audial and visual geniuses!
