Sia Teams with Maddie Ziegler Once More for New Video "Cheap Thrills"!
I, like the rest of us, thought that Sia’s magnificent collaboration with dancer Maddie Ziegler had come to an end after their trilogy of music videos “Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart”, and “Big Girls Cry”, but apparently not so! Sia, perhaps realizing that you shouldn’t fit what’s not broke, just dropped the music video for her newest single, “Cheap Thrills”, and lo and behold, Maddie is back!
Sporting her now-familiar nude leotard and a Sia wig, the young dancer once again plays Sia avatar in another dance-heavy video. This one differs slightly from the rest, though, in that the song is more of an upbeat club anthem as opposed to the angsty fare of the previous three songs, and the dancing is more traditional than the performance art-type movements that we’ve seen before. Maddie is joined by two super-hot male backup dancers (neither of which are Shia LaBeouf, don’t worry) to get spazzy and quirky the way only a Sia/Maddie vid can!
“Cheap Thrills” is off Sia’s newest album, This Is Acting, and was originally intended as a track for Rihanna but Sia decided to keep it for herself when she realized it made her feel really happy. Same, Sia, same!
