4 New Netflix Shows To Get You Through Isolation!

Written by Sarrah Wolfe. Published: March 28 2020

If you haven’t been mega-stressed this week, you probably live under a rock next to Patrick Star. And if that’s the case, please stay there. You’re not missing much right now except for a global pandemic, and you really don’t want to be here for that.

For those of us who have been social distancing and isolating ourselves, it’s been admittedly a bit tough. It might be fun for the first day or two, but after awhile it gets really boring and you start to really miss your friends.

But luckily, a new add-on feature was released for Chrome browsers called “Netflix Party”. It allows you and your friends to all stream the same show at the same time. It has a chat room built into it so you guys can react in real time. It makes remote movie nights SO much more convenient and fun, and makes this global pandemic just a little bit less stressful.

To make things even better, Netflix is releasing some new shows that look absolutely amazing and will make you want to throw a Netflix Party. Trust me, once you watch these trailers, you won’t want the quarantine to end. Okay just kidding, we all want this to be over soon. But in the meantime, we might as well get cozy with some good TV. Here's what we'll be binging during isolation!

1. "Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C. J. Walker"

A historical-based show that you won’t be able to turn away from, "Self Made" tells the story of the African-American female entrepreneur, Madam C.J. Walker, who built an empire with her specialized hair care products.

The show dives into the complexities that come along with being a marginalized woman determined to make a name for herself, despite society continuously fighting against her. It’s awe-inspiring and powerful, and will leave you completely amazed by Madam C.J. Walker!

2. "Vampires"

Be prepared, this one looks intense.

"Vampires" is a new French series that chronicles the (mis)adventures of a vampire teen being chased down by a vampire community who wants to make her one of their own.

Provocative and relentless, you’ll be on the edge of your seat (or your bed, more likely) the whole time.

3. "Tiger King"

Get a look inside the dark underworld of… private zoos.

Who would have thought such a lively place would be the source of lawlessness and corruption? This docu-series focuses on “Joe Exotic”, a zookeeper who really threw the big cat-breeding world for a loop.

4. "Freud"

If you’re a "Criminal Minds" fan, you are going to LOVE this new series.

The show is a fictionalized tale of Sigmund Freud (you know, the guy who basically created psychoanalysis) as he helps solve a murder in Vienna in the late-1800s. A psychological thriller about the father of psychoanalysis? Be ready to have your mind blown.
