New Details (and More Grogu!) Revealed In “The Mandalorian” Season 3 Official Trailer!

It’s been 3 long years since we last saw our favorite space duo -- the lone bounty hunter and the cutest creature ever -- separated when Luke Skywalker showed up to take Grogu to Jedi school. The second season of “The Mandalorian” came out in 2020, and even though it left off with a major cliffhanger, the pair were reunited at the end of the first season of "The Book of Boba Fett" in 2021, when Grogu chose his space dad over Luke (whew!). Since then, fans have been waiting well over a year for more adventures of Mando and Grogu. Well, we don’t have to wait for too long now, as Season 3 will air on March 1 on Disney +!

The trailer for the third season of the space western was released yesterday (January 16), giving us clues as to what’s awaiting Din Djarin and Baby Yoda. Let’s see what we can expect from the new episodes!

The trailer starts with Mando talking about his people and what actually means to be a Mandalorian: “Being a Mandalorian is not just learning about how to fight. You also have to know how to navigate the Galaxy”. In the scene, we see Mando flying through the space in his N-1 Naboo starfighter along with Grogu, and we can guess that he will be teaching his adopted son how to become a true Mandalorian, since the latter refused to be trained as a Jedi in “The Book of Boba Fett”.

Mando’s culture and planet mean a lot to him. He’ll do what it takes to “make amends” for removing his helmet (a big no-no among his order of Mandalorians) in order to save Grogu in Season 2. In the trailer, we see a glimpse of Mandalore, which was destroyed and devastated in the Dark Times and now lies in ruins, so we can take another guess that Mando is about to perform the sacred ritual for his transgressions to be forgiven by the Children of the Watch.

By the way, this will be the first time seeing Mandalore in live-action, and that’s bound to be epic! In this season, we’ll also see a lot of other fascinating places, including the imperial center Coruscant, which seems to be getting ready for a new fight, and even a new cool droid bar with a bunch of droids enjoying their free time.

Not everything is as peaceful and careless as it seems, though. The Mandalorians are in a new war, as we see them fighting with the enemy. The question is: who is the enemy this time? Is it someone we know or completely new?

Speaking of mysteries, there’s an ancient secret that may finally be discovered. If you are a Star Wars fan, you probably already know what we’re talking about: the infamous Order 66, and the even more secretive backstory of Grogu. In the trailer, we see a short scene with the flashback to Order 66, which means we’ll find out new details and revelations of that fatal day. Was Grogu there when Anakin Skywalker slaughters the padawans? If so, how did he escape? And will be get a glimpse of Anakin himself again like we did in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"?

Grogu keeps being cute as always, though at the end of the trailer, we see him kick some monster’s butt with the Force again. And his smirk afterward... ah, so precious!

A bunch of familiar faces will be back for this season too. Pedro Pascal (of course), Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, Katee Sackhoff, Paul Sun-Hyung, Amy Sedaris, and Omid Abtahi will return to their roles, while we'll see a couple of new characters and star guests as well. The coolest one is THE Christopher Lloyd, who is rumored to appear in a couple of episodes. Tim Meadows will also appear in the new season. Lots of fans are speculating that we may see Boba Fett cameo as well, since Fett is now Tatooine’s pre-eminent crime boss, and Mando will definitely be visiting the desert planet again, so it's likely he’ll be reunited with his friend. And we may also see another cute character -- Babu Frik, since we saw a few other Anzellan droidsmiths in the video.

So, as you see, the expectations of the new season are very high, and we’re sure it won’t leave us disappointed. Especially since we got to hear the most famous quote, “May the Force be with you”, once again!
