“No Excuses” is demanding respect in a retro '90s vibes music video full of pastels, colorful outfits, and clones of Meghan as back up dancers!
Meghan took some time off to recover from her second surgery for vocal cord hemorrhage, which occurred last year. This new single is just a tease of what we will be seeing in her upcoming third album and what she will be bringing in 2018.
The catchy lyrics of the song make it an anthem of empowerment. In the song, she is taking down a boy who is not treating her with respect, and we are here for it. Current movements of #MeToo and Time’s Up inspired her to write “No Excuses.” This was one of the last songs Meghan wrote for her album and wanted it to be about personal experiences she has had trying to make a name for herself in the industry.
Another aspect that inspired the song was the Golden Rule and how Meghan wants us to demand respect for everyone no matter their age.
We hope this will join the list of her best songs such as “All About That Bass” and “Dear Future Husband.”
Meagan’s third album’s name and release date have yet to be announced. All we know is that every song will be related to each other and that it will feature mostly dance, anthem songs, and a ballad. Her family, including her fiancé Daryl Sabara, will also be singing in the background of every song.
As we wait to hear more about Meghan’s upcoming album, make sure to listen to “No Excuses!”
