Through splashes and tones of pink and pink plants, cars, food, rocks, trendy pink outfits and accessories, and some very suggestive imagery, Janelle embodies both the literal and figurative meaning of the color. For Janelle, “PYNK” is creation, empowerment, and a color that unites us all.
Check out the girly (possibly NSFW) video below:
We are here for the edgy aesthetic of the video! Janelle definitely keeps pushing boundaries in the fashion game. Her all-women crew in the video is #friendgoals as they are seen dancing in the pink desert and hanging everywhere from a party and a road trip to the pool and at a sleepover. Actress Tessa Thompson (Thor) makes another cameo appearance -- she also recently appeared as Janelle’s love interest in “Make Me Feel”.
The feel and look of the video make us even more excited to see what else Dirty Laundry will bring! Though it is said that the album will be about Janelle’s vulnerable side, we have definitely seen bold and strong Janelle so far in “PYNK”, “Django Jane”, and “Make Me Feel”.
Directed by Emma Westenberg, “PYNK” is for sure to be your favorite feminist anthem this Spring. The video and song connect the color of pink to femininity, gender, body positivity, and confidence. These messages could not be more relevant to women today!
Dirty Computer is set to drop on April 27 and we cannot wait to hear the rest of the songs it will bring!
