On second thought, maybe we’ll keep the word “drippin’” filed away right next to “fetch”. Nonetheless, you are going to be stoked when we tell you that Jamie Lynn Spears has FINALLY made her return to the big screen! Or whatever size screen you’re watching Netflix on…
That’s right. The "Zoey 101" actress has come out of a decade-long hiatus to take on a supporting role in Netflix’s new series, "Sweet Magnolias". In the series, Jamie Lynn plays Noreen, the pregnant mistress-turned-fiancée of Maddie’s (JoAnne Garcia Swisher) ex-husband. The show is replete with juicy drama, but it takes place in South Carolina so it’s simultaneously full of Southern comfort.

Remember the rumors that circulated during the last season of "Zoey 101" that the show had been cancelled because Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant? Regardless of whether that was true or not, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t find it a little ironic that Spears’s character in "Sweet Magnolias" is also pregnant. Maybe Spears was just prepping for this role for a really long time…?
Happy “Labor” Day??.

*for all of you confused. this is a throwback of when I had Ivey, I only have 2 kids. pic.twitter.com/G302z2NLju
Probably not, but it was still totally worth the wait. Spears absolutely nails the role! Despite her character having been the mistress to Bill Townsend (Maddie's ex-husband, played by Chris Klein), she’s actually an extremely wholesome character, helping out with the kids and attending their extracurriculars and all that fun adult stuff…
Of course, this isn’t too far from Spears’s personality in real life. She may have shied away from acting for a while, but her social media is filled with wholesome content about her own family.

And that heartwarming feeling is just what you can expect from "Sweet Magnolias". Despite the difficulties the characters face, the show is a nice reminder that, no matter what sort of hardships you encounter in life, there are people around you that can empathize with you and care for you! It’s the perfect setting for Spears to make her return, and we are totally here for it!
"Sweet Magnolias" is available to stream on Netflix!
